i use vivaldi which uses the chrome engine but removes most of the shitty ai and google stuff, although i do have firefox installed for the random (non-google) website that somehow doesn't like it
theyre sneaky and discrete about it ofc and firefox usually eventually catches up, but there have definitely been reports in the past of like youtube being noticeably shittier on firefox bc they went ahead and added code that takes advantage of chrome-specific undocumented optimizations etc
because google actively makes it worse to use any website that uses their tools if you're not on chrome or a chrome derivative and making a useful web engine from scratch in 2026 is like making your own semiconductors from scratch
not writing code is a valid thing to consider bc every new line you add to a project increases the risk of things breaking and you don't understand why. but lol that people took this to mean "get a machine to write thousands of lines for you" instead of "don't overcomplicate things"
