Been there, done that, bought too many t-shirts. Reads, writes, has a podcast, organises nice cons (Åcon!) and takes dogs out. Civil servant at Helsinki City Hall. Oh yes, I post pics of our dogs over at https://www.instagram.com/mogensardapreston/

Post a banger that isn’t in English.
I have some other kind of a schtick, undefined as of now though.
Never read Connelly, but watched the whole of Bosch and the first session of Legacy. Thou I felt that mr Welliver was phoning it in during the last/later episodes and seasons.
Sari says that she likes to watch ”competent main character” series, even when they are formulaic and/or repetitive.
I quite liked Lincoln Lawyer, but after the first season, I thought that this was enough. There's just too much to see and not enough time.
I did watch the second season though. But that was it. For real.
Damnation! I am not going to get another service, these current ones are plenty enough.
I was very sensible and divided the 3rd season of Ghosts for two evenings. Only 10 episodes! That's less than five hours.
Now I need to see the 4th season. Or the Australian version. Pretty pllllease?
Great lists of some great reading and then some. Happy to have taken part of the making of the brand new Best Translated Novel category.
When we first organised Åcon in 2007, I had hopes that it would A) be a good con, B) would be something we'd do again some time, C) bring Nordic fandom closer together, D) start something new in Finndom, and what ever else I have already forgotten.
It has been all that, and then some. ❤️
This is GLORIOUS!!! Thank you!

Annum novum faustum felicem vobis!
Enjoy your trip to all things John Clarke!
Currently reading, very good so far, intriguing opening, solid characters. Stands well next to previously read Titanium Noir by Nick Harkaway.
Movie you've watched more than six times with a Gif. Hard mode-no Star Wars, Marvel
Black and white picture, with black borders, of a gaunt, older man with glasses, reading from a book to a microphone.
Hannu Blommila (1957-2025) was one of the most knowledgeable readers, critics and man of words I've known in the field of SF&F. This is terrible news. Words fail me.

Do we know whether there was an actual homage with Philo's home planet of Zarquon to the prophet in Hitch-Hiker's Guide?
There have been moments when I've felt a pang of disappointment for those meek applause and the gnashing of teeth. But then I have smelled the sweetness of victory, tasted the bitter taste of loser tears and heard the stentorian disappointment in the air.
Tough.
Ensimmäinen yhteys (First Contact) cover is by famed Finnish comic artist (i.a. The Phantom, Achilles Wiggen) Kari T. Leppänen.
The first one is indeed a part of a painting by the Dutch master of winter landscapes, Gijsbrecht Leytens.
