I kinda did that but standardized the vowels to the Romance 5 with Y as a place-dependent wild card. It all fell apart when I didn't want to keep explaining that name pronunciation was *historic.* Didn't stop one of my friends from using it as a cipher for the rest of the year.

I'm incredibly embarrassed to admit that the first writing system I constructed was Very Much English, to the point that I built on the ch/sh/th digraphs of English to encode the sounds. I still dig up bits of the symbols from memory to use in illustrations. Just not those.

Yes, even after finding the extra info (tonight!), which was not sufficiently localized for me to understand with the available clues. When you say in every phrasing that a thing can do a thing, I'm going to keep trying to make the thing do the thing, not abstract from it. Eh. Me problem I guess.

Honestly, one of the above situations really felt like it was designed to mess with me specifically, or at least my style of gameplay, which is "keep your options open." I about threw the mouse when I finally gave in and looked at the wiki because that was NOT a right answer I would ever deduce.

- was way too concerned about the fish
