This is hilarious.
Also, completely enraging.

Hey all I'm looking for work!
I'm experienced in character design and costume for games and film as well as illustration for books and TTRPGS. I'm based out of BC Canada looking for freelance or full time. My portfolio is linked in the first comment, thank you for shares!
Too relatable.

FWIW I love seeing your work no matter what it is
From one perspective, this is a story about grit and determination.
From another, it's a damning portrait of a country where someone working full-time at $11/hour lives in a $60-a-night motel with her toddlerβthen spends evenings DoorDashing with her kid because affordable childcare is nonexistent.
Youβre at least the second person I know to speak positively of RADAR, fwtw
Iβve been wanting to do that lol. Iβm not super eager to join any Discord servers for it though, after less-than-great experiences in some others. So, Iβve kind of accepted itβs not happening.
Alaska is great! I wish I still lived there. Would give my right eye to be able to move back.
(Sadly, housing is tough to come by and most employers wonβt give you the time of day if you donβt already live there, no matter how happy youβd be to relocate.)
Ever relatable
Okay, I ANAL, but how would one do this? Presumably the dividend is taxable now because of provisions in the federal tax code, right? Would it necessitate changing the classification of the dividend somehow? I canβt see that going unchallenged.
We now have three years of post-ULA permitting data to compare to pre-ULA, and...it's not good. Average annual building permits issued in LA City have fallen by 1/3 since the measure passed. If you think this is due to macro factors, look at the rest of the county and state - doing mostly fine.
As a person whoβs really really good at Excel and has been unemployed for (essentially) 3+ straight years despite thousands of applications, I wish it were this simple.
Federal government liked me. They were going to hire me at GS-12 (β$100k). Alas.
If it wasnβt obvious, /s
Fun shit. Just when I needed more reasons to NOT be hopeful for the future.
These companies are often paying ppl more than theyβd ever pay a person (Iβve seen $90-$150/hr for my own skill set) to teach an AI to replace a person.
It is sick.
ADDENDUM: Discord also does not provide (at least as far as I saw) any instructions or information regarding how to view the files they provide. βYou can view a JSON file in Notepad, even though it might be difficult to readβ is not something everyone knows!
Thatβs what I ended up doing, and I was able to glean the information I wantedβbut I dare say Iβm mildly more adept at reading that output than many people would be. (And there were bits in that output that even I needed guidance from others to understand correctly.)
They send you a JSON file. They donβt serve it as a text file, because they donβt serve it at all. But given that most users donβt have a JSON parser installed (even I didnβt), the most accessible way for most users to read the file is to open it in Notepad.
Hilariously, point 1 is *almost* what Discord does if you request your own user data. I did it about a month ago.

At times itβs been a multiple-times-a-week occurrence for me in groups where I have cause to regularly post screenshots. Itβs βyouβre the fifth person in the last hour to tell that same joke, but the cashier has to pretend itβs original,β except the joke is inherently demeaning.
And this isnβt really the point, but itβs not entirely NOT related either:
It sucks how socially acceptable itβs become to publicly shame people who use light mode, just as long as one does it in a βjokingβ manner.
"The poor deserve endless cruelty and punishment for being poor" is a foundational belief of this social order, across political parties, among liberals and conservatives. It is evil and unforgivable.
Okay, this is genuinely concerning.
If this laptop dies, I'm so fucked. I can't afford a new one and without it can't even apply for jobs. (Even libraries around here are only operative on very limited hours these days, and don't let me use any of my own documents like resumes.)
My laptop specs, which should be sufficient to run this game at lowest settings without cooking itself. There is an overlayed heat gauge suggesting it is indeed cooking itself.
Like, yeah, it's not the greatest machine in the world, to put it mildly. But it should be able to handle this on lowest settings. Odd that it's not.
awshit now it's super hot again. Yeah, this game might just not be something I can currently play.
Not sure Iβm as hooked so far as I was on the previous two. Political intrigue plots are not my favorite storylines in stuff I do for pleasure. Will give it time tho. Itβs a demo, after all.
Okay, after a bit of time, looks like it did cool off to reasonable levels (lower than FF14, actually) once set to
Low graphics. Took some time tho.
Also, holy crap the keyboard controls are clunky lmao
