A small wooden shelf in a shed; a plastic jug, bowl and cups set is on it
Only 10 months after I said I would do it, I have today installed a small shelf in our storage shed
*All* of the parts were things I had lying around 'in case'; none bought for the purpose of the shelf
Everything comes to he who waits
I've come through the other end.
I've had an epidural, a bit of my stomach removed. A tumor removed from my pelvis and managed to get through without a stoma.
I've been" hot chemo wash" and now in intensive care unit.
Apparently first thing I said was what's the celtic score and did Scotland win?π€¦
First email I saw on my phone this morning was a daily roster of obituaries from a local news outlet. I thought, "Existence is so stupid. I'm glad I'm about done with it." [Note: not contemplating self-harm, just old.]
Some coffee and snurfle time with Roger the cat is smoothing out my mood now.
Well done all
We did it!
An amazing experience and over Β£3000 raised for @nhslothcharity.bsky.social!
I cried at the end.
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me on the #BreastCancer and the #Fundraising journey, not least @galleonskip.bsky.social!

Bet Roryβs happy with that
A cable knit vest in green yarn. Pictured flat on a wooden floor.
π§Ά Rory's vest is done.
I'm pleased with the result, especially considering the pattern was a bit of a struggle. The yarn is lovely, though - Chusku by Mirasol, 100% corriedale wool.

Woman crossing finishing line of race. Sheβs smiling!
Official photo from tonightβs run!
The course was quite icy in places, and we had to slow to walking pace at times, which is kind of symbolic of how the year has gone!
Thank you all for your support and kindness. Both for the cancer journey and for the fundraising!

NOT EVEN WAR.

A closeup of two velvety cats, litter mates, sitting together on top of a bookcase. On the left is Frankie, with tabby stripes on his side, back and forehead, a Christmas tree shaped splotch on his nose and white front. He's sitting up straight with his dainty paws in front of him, looking down into the camera. On the right is tabby cat Joe. Joe is looking off to the side as he spills over he edge of the bookcase, his polydactyl paws taking up much more space than Frankie's, while Frankie's tail pokes out from under his belly. #CatsOfBlueSky

One of the now famous images of British servicemen manning a naval gun at Shoremead whilst wearing full pantomime drag. It's usually claimed to be an image that was banned by the government or somesuch nonsense, but there's actually a rich vein of propaganda photographs of servicemen carrying on with normal, humorous life in the middle of a war. That the Nazis were understood to be dead against this sort of stuff only added to its value.
So whilst the self-reported big manly men are accidentally closing a narrow shipping channel by having a big manly war and shouting big manly war things, a reminder of that time a bunch of lads who were much secure in their gender did it deliberately.
Sixteen years ago, 11th March 2010, Hatch, the ship's dog from the Mary Rose, made a starring appearance at one of the world's most prestigious dog shows, Crufts!
He didnβt win any prizes, but he did make a lot of new friends!
Just watched #DunblaneHowBritainBannedHandguns (shown on #BBCScotland should be on iPlayer.)
Remembering those who died, and anyone affected then and now, on the 30th anniversary of this terrible event.
What an achievement to have banned handguns.

History of Me I was five The first time I remember crossing the street alone I looked back and saw My mom waving βI didn't see her tears She never said She saw my quivering lip That was the first time I misunderstood -Leaving There were so many times in the years after Of misinterpretation The waves of loneliness and anxiety Feeling like that little girl in the dress and backpack On the corner Crossing alone Leaving became a habit of others or me I learned to push the quivering down Anxiety never truly goes away You can crush the pill or take it You can run βor stay Aren't we always going to be Crossing the street βwishing βwe had a hand to hold ~ Alison P. And alsoβ¦can we wake up to the treachery of our right wing press?!
I think Dylan Thomas put it better, not going gently and all that
