True. WASD + mouse control would be an example of that. It wasn't the default for Quake when it shipped as you had to type something into the console to enable it.
That plays with a slow frame rate on my machine.

Back when I was playing a lot of DOS games, I'd quite often have a shooter and an RTS on the go at the same time. Unreal / C&C for example. It's a good way to live.
There's a specific joy in powering on a 44-year-old computer and seeing that inverse K cursor blinking at you. It doesn't want your password. It doesn't need an update. It just wants you to type something. Anything. Go on.

Yeah, I got a book by one of the Stock Aitken Waterman engineers and worked my way through the songs thanks to YouTube. Sure enough, most of it was the musical equivalent of shovelware. But a few hits too.
I'm going to need some massive scissors to get into these.
It's basically the 8 bit Amiga. It has reasonable base specs, but it's a box of tricks for the talented programmer. Personally, I prefer the look of the C64 for most things though.
