WBA, St Pauli, decent music, good reads, cycling and other lost causes. Getting on a bit.

Returning home from Sheffield, where I saw ‘The Ladies Football Club’ at the Crucible. Great play: brilliant ensemble acting, imaginative choreography, great script and an important story about women’s football (and other issues) at the end of World War 1. Well worth seeing.

I filled up in Nottingham today, anticipating the panic and potential shortage. No problem, though they have hacked the price up before there are actual shortages (if they happen at all).

In praise of Jeremy Bowen His Today programme monologue on Trump, war in Iran, and the history of the Middle East was exactly how the BBC should be reporting on the world.

Superb piece by Mic Wright in praise of the excellent report on the Iran war which was broadcast on the Today programme, yesterday.

No idea, mate. He’s among the people I really wouldn’t want, but we’ll have to see where we end up at the end of the season.

It’s been 11 years for us. Was fun until we played Villa away in round 6. Horrible. Since then no manager has picked a team who might beat anyone.

Port Vale’s pitch looks like a graveyard for any footballing team. You never know, you might catch Arsenal or Citeh on an off day. It does happen - occasionally.

It’s astonishing that high-profile media interviewers let them get away with saying things like that. Very much part of the problem.

It was just so bizarre - International Women’s Day, an all female panel, then suddenly she’s interviewing Jenrick, who knows bugger all about anything.

Robert Jenrick is not a serious politician. Why have him on, spouting about ‘vague notions of international law?’

We got a decent, battling point. Could’ve won it, but a point will do for now.

Interesting to see that Gove reckons Tim Shipman is ‘bias-free’ in his hysterical account of how Starmer was prevented from joining Trump’s mad adventure by Ed Milliband persuading cabinet to vote against him.
Shippers Unbound? Unhinged, morelike.
