Love to see this kind of discussion here. People are right PS1 games and especially pre-rendered backgrounds were clearly benefited too, but Mario 64 is such an oddity in comparison still with its simple textures and bright colors.

There's been endless discussion about the look of pixel art games on CRT televisions... but I recently saw some old footage of people trying out Mario 64 in stores and game expos, and I was really struck by how much more alive it looked on those little CRTs compared to modern screen captured video

We started with restrain ICE. Then reform ICE, then landed squarely on abolish ICE.

But I’ve moved on to prosecute ICE y’all. Every last one even if it takes 20 years of trials.
