Part 1 of 4 in the Skull Barrel Project - full stream is now available! This project stems back to 2018, thought it would be a fun way of hyping myself to get back to streaming to make some of my old streams publicπ youtu.be/acqoPn05XV8

Every few weeks I do discord critiques with the community. Basically it is two hours of feedback on work happenings from the Dinusty Empire Discord.
I rather enjoy these, maybe you will too.

I created a guide to setting up a neutrally lit scene in #UnrealEngine 5.3. This scene is used as a look-dev tool, providing a way to view assets, spot inaccuracies & visual problems with materials. The project is also available for free! #gameart β¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈ

I am feeling pretty poorly, but I wanted to do something productive so I worked on this peeling paint material a little more today. Still a WIP but it's getting there. #gameart #SubstanceDesigner
Great work Brigitte! #gameart β¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈ
Looking dope, I see those basing materials sneaking in there! Hyped to see what you end up with. Iβve been experimenting & hoping to have bits to show in the near future too!
Hey everyone! First post here, and this is what I'm currently working on π This Unreal Engine 5 environment is inspired by a real life location I go to every summer in France π€
I've recently finished the art blockout as seen below, and I'll try to keep this post updated with my progress π

We tend to think of the artist's work as the output. The real work of the artist is a way of being in the world." #gameart

Living life as an artist is a practice. You are either engaging in the practice or you're not. It makes no sense to say you're not good at it. It's like saying, "I'm not good at being a monk." You are either living as a monk or you're not. #gameart
Here is a Gravel Road material I did with SubstanceDesigner. The base was procedural and I scatter few pieces I sculpted with #zbrush. More infos here, www.artstation.com/artwork/5vaeaw #SubstanceDesigner #Texturing #textures #EnvironmentArt #artstationhq #madewithsubstance

Incredible as always Liam!
Solid agree.
I made a custom feed for game art, environment art, character art along with industry standard game art applications and processes. You can follow it here β¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈ

First post to this new platform. Hey, im Daniel Torres. Lighting Artist with a side dish of Environment Art.
Love taking photos of nature and eating delicious food.
Currently looking for a new gig, if you know any, let me know. I will appreciate it. Cheers!
Yes you can, you may need to retopo the high poly if it deviates significantly from there low so that you can bake a normal map. Happy to help, if you have questions just ask π
The "Dynamesh" workflow is a quick way to iterate between high & low poly models. I made a guide for my students & mentees - www.dropbox.com/s/u1ke346t6t...
You can use your low poly as a foundation of what becomes your high poly after subdivision if the silhouette doesnβt change too much.
Oooh really?! Right I am going to try this tonight! Iβll take a look on YouTube to see if I can find a guide! Thanks again
Oh thatβs a good shout, yeah Iβll be doing that too! Cheers dude. I hope they add the ability to create custom feeds, so I could have like a prop artist feed, a lighting artist feed etc.
Haha thank you Pete! Thatβs very useful. I was a little unsure how the feeds concept actually worked.
My favourite photographer on the planet, who also happens to be a wonderful game art nerd. β¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈ
Is there any way to tag posts on here? Like hashtags or something to that effect. Iβm not really sure how feeds work, can I create a feed? Iβm seeing lots of art from my friends which is great but it would be cool to be able to search for categories etc.
Yeah I feel like these are great materials to start with, lots of interesting little elements to bring together. Thanks Sabrina, hopefully they find it useful!
Developing really well Sabrina! Keep up the great work.
I have fond memories of chatting you while you were working on this, still looks epic. Great work Jason, your texture work remains goals for myself and my students!
Hands down one of my favourite and, in my humble opinion, one of the best hard surface artists on the planet. Sick presentation Rick.
I made some incredible friends through that game and the environment and world building were game changers. I am insanely hyped!
Your art is off the hook by the way, several of your recent posts have blown me away, insanely good man!
Yeah I might even make these available as a learning resource on my blog in the future π
