My friend Paula knew I was very surprised when I found out that lichens can grow on leaves, so she gave me a dried specimen from her collection with some notes and thought I'd share some lichen love.
Cedar Cup fungus from Hitchin cemetery today. Quite a crop was present. Thanks to @wjrpb.bsky.social (whilst on the New Year plant Hunt) for alerting me to the existence of this species and to @jeremybartlett.bsky.social for an informative blog about them.

Just finished making Bee Hotels today for two of my daughters (and their partners) as Christmas presents. A range of hole sizes should attract both Bees and Wasps of various species.
