people who insist that trump is the whole problem are super dangerous because they will prevent us from addressing root causes
Well, gas is expensive, and food is expensive, and weβre doing a war nobody wants, but at least there are no jobs
however mad you think bluesky are that their website is full of furries, youre underestimating lmao
never, ever, ever, ever accept "how will you pay for it?" as an argument against social programs.
the thing that the Democratic base cannot abide above all else right now is Handing It To Them
and being anti-trans is, in fact, Handing It To Them
don't do that, it's bad morals and bad politics
would you let it stare at you with its special eyes #pokemon
The entire Democratic strategy debate β "moderate" or move left? fight or compromise? β is based on a misreading of data. Voters don't think Dems are too progressive; they think Dems are weak. The actual math on what to do about this isn't even close!

all you can really do is absentmindedly tweet "You do start to appreciate why Lenin and Stalin just shot everybody."

A screenshot of a mobile Google search results page in dark mode for the query "Kansas trans". Under the heading "News about Kansas," there is a list of four news articles: βAn article from the Kansas City Star, published 13 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas informs trans residents their driverβs licenses become invalid on Thursday". The thumbnail shows a sample Kansas driver's license. βAn article from The Independent, published 7 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas sends letters to trans drivers demanding the immediate surrender of their licenses over birthright law". The thumbnail shows small pride flags on desks inside a legislative chamber. βAn article from The Topeka Capital-Journal, published 7 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas invalidates IDs and birth certificates of transgender people". The thumbnail features a close-up of colorful pride flag stickers. βAn article from Erin In The Morning, published 16 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas Sends Letters To Trans People Demanding The Immediate Surrender Of Drivers Licenses". The thumbnail is a nighttime photo of a state capitol building illuminated in pink and red lights.
A day later and no major national news org has covered what they're doing in Kansas.
This is the flip side of the hyper focus on trans issues by the right. The national media ignores what's actually being done to trans people.
This erasure is what contributes to the persecution.

1. Numerous transgender people in Kansas are reporting that the state has sent them a letter demanding the immediate surrender of drivers licenses.
Those driving could be arrested, charged, and see privileges revoked.

Hell, I've been pretty hands off with Magic lately and I *just* this week learned that Edge of Eternities is a really neat and well-executed original concept space opera top-down flavor set
I'd assumed it was more IP slop and wholly ignored it
Even now I'm googling to double check it *isn't* a UB
UB as a basic concept has *so* many problems, a major one of which is it taints everything MtG with "is this an original idea or borrowed or forced by some IP" which worsens the perceived quality of everything MtG
That said, the Avatar UB set does appear to completely redefine it to be "anybody who helped Aang at literally any point" which makes it essentially ubiquitous as a typing in the set, which also means the majority of Ally cards are now Avatar cards, which is... questionable, as most UB things are
I started playing during OG Zendikar which is the plane Ally is originally from, where it was sort of a sub-archetype of "the motley crew of adventurer sorts who've banded together to try to make a difference" and had all sorts of effect synergies
I'm not sure I agree with this.
It has the same effects text, but they have different power/toughnesses, different mana costs, and different types, so they're pretty far from functional reprints.

Pretty sure they banned thinking on Friday afternoons π§ πββοΈ

i cannot stop thinking about this interaction
It's incredible how it was revealed that the anti-trans push over the past decade was concocted in no small part by a literal PEDOPHILE CONSPIRACY and the reaction of transphobic lawmakers, journalists, academics has been a shrug and a "well, we gotta
carry out the orders from pedophile island"
seeing this shit while donald trump is president is enough to melt my brain
Screenshot of a CNN segment shared by Acyn. A split-screen shows commentator Lydia Moynihan on the left and Kevin OβLeary on the right during a heated exchange. The chyron reads, βObama: Dems need to avoid scolding and βvirtue-signaling.ββ The post quotes OβLeary referencing China and concentration camps, and McGowan responding about West Virginia.
I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.
the overseer of project 2025 is telling you out loud that every inch you cede on trans rights is part of the plan to create a white christian fascist state
chef: who wants dirt soup
everyone: what? no thank you, just regular soup
chef: bad news we had to get rid of the soup to provide the dirt
everyone: but we hate dirt
chef: (mouthful of dirt) who wants dirt
I keep thinking about Executive Order 9066 - Japanese (and Okinawan) Interment. The *hundreds of millions* - likely several billion in 2026 dollars - in property that was seized by the government, stolen by neighbors, damaged, looted, taken over, stolen from Japanese Americans & immigrants.
These numbers demand a complete rethinking of immigration in this country and accountability for the terrorism of DHS/CBP/ICE.
Aesthetic reforms are just not enough.
