The Fairey Swordfish was on board HMS Ark Royal during her first entry into Portsmouth Harbour on 1 July 1985. She isn't commissioned yet as the flag at her stern is the Blue Ensign instead of the White Ensign

Too close for harpoon also the area is busy with other ships so if anything happens and harpoon goes astray you could hit someone else
You also have more control over the torpedo than a harpoon
Harpoon is seldom used and carried infact donβt even think the USN stock them anymore
IRIS Dena has been sunk by a US Attack submarine in the Indian Ocean
This is only the second time a nuclear submarine has sunk a warship in anger with torpedos and the first time for the USN
