Managed to get a little more done to the inside of the Inn keepers room. They have a large fireplace for cooking 'tasty' gruel and hearty broth for their patrons.
Working out how to keep the roof easily removable was an interesting challenge
#terrain
That essentially puts them in breach of contract, which gives you the right to terminate their services.
Well, I made the decision to retrofit a chimney (as I'd forgotten to include one!). Which means I need to do a little remodelling on the upper floors now, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run π€¨
I'll do another on the other side for cooking the customers gruel π

No worries! This is a test sheet for the building kits on my shop to give people a better idea of how the tiles would look. I think I'm likely going with the dragon scale for this build though. It's calling to me lol
I knew I'd seen that style somewhere before! Could you see it being used on an entire roof?
I can definitely see your point on the cartoony feel of the dragon scale one. It's for a fantasy style inn, so it could use any of styles really.
I can definitely see the appeal of the tapered round one.
I'm not fixed on the other 2 choices, but I do like the idea of using something that is fairly unique in style, which the dragon scale lends itself to more so than the diamond.
Trying to decide one what roof tiles to use for the inn. I'm leaning towards trying the Dragon Scale or Diamond ones, with maybe row of Straight ones at the roof edge. What do you all think?

Work continues on the next floor down... same as the upper levels, but with some wood panelling on the lower half of the walls in the hallways.
I feel like I cheated a little by lasering all the things, but I wanted to ensure the wood panels were all a consistent height.

I'm finally back to working on the Inn again. Managed to get most of the roof done & started on the interior. I cut some cardboard wall inserts to paint & then slot in to save time. I'll scrunch the cardboard up a bit before painting to add some 'cracks' in the walls. #terrain
A little progress on the inn. I have managed to get the top floors cut in and have made a start on the roof.
I could have just used cardboard & tiles, but I wanted to try and keep it looking as immersive as I could.
It's pretty tall on top of the sewer base!

No worries! Hopefully it's useful! I had to do a search on how to create one when I first started with bsky and found skyfeed.app
I started many moons ago, with Heroquest, Space Crusade, Dark Future, W40k 2nd Edition, Man O' War, Space Marine (Epic - 2nd Edition), Space Hulk 1st Edition.
Happy to say that I still own all of these, except Space Hulk (which somehow went missing from my parents loft).
The four separate floors for a 4-storey model building. Designed to be played at 28mm scale. Made from MDF.
Haha! No blacked out windows on this one, thankfully.
I'll be doing a full interior, so I'm hoping it won't be too difficult to get my hands/paintbrush in at each level. Although some parts will need to be painted before being permanently fixed in place.
I once took an arrow to the knee...
Thanks! I'm really enjoying how this is taking shape so far!
Thanks. I plan on painting it once itβs all built. Not sure how difficult the interior will be. Iβll cross that bridge when I come to it π
I think I've finished adding all the balsa wood. Just some thinner supports to add for the porch and jettied section, with 3mm basswood.
I'm looking forward to to getting some bricks on this thing, but I'm hoping I don't have to cut out much of the balsa wood to fit the chimney in!

Slowly working my way up the building with the balsa wood. I have lots more beams, cross-braces, supports and trims to put in yet, as well as the whole front porch (and one entire wall I somehow missed π
).
Dry-fitted the windows to get a feel for how it's going to look.

Room for some small improvements, but generally happy with it.
I may have to change the name from 'The Drunken Duck' to 'The Piebald Pony', to match it's clientele, as it will also feature a wine cellar underneath.

The front view of a 3 storey miniature inn, laser cut from MDF wood. There is a 28mm miniature outside the front door for scale.
From flat file, to 3D, to reality... it's a beast!
A couple of small adjustments needed to make it an easier fit in some places, but it's mostly there I think.
Now to start adding to it with XPS, balsa, stir sticks etc.

I think I might have over-engineered the Drunken Duck Inn π
Initially designed flat, using xTool Creative Space and then imported into Tinkercad to ensure it all fits together as expected.
This is the D&D version. Hoping to do a ruined version for Mordheim/Frostgrave.

The USA flag and Canada flag above the words βShipping to USA & Canada now availableβ
Just a quick update to let you know that I have finally opened up shipping to the USA and Canada from the website! So if you've been after some laser cut goodies for your crafting projects, now you can π
(Still not able to deliver to the EU yet, sorry!)
A collection on miniature laser cut tables and chairs. View on a green cutting mat alongside some coffee stirrers.
My lunchbreak 'what-if' from yesterday (which spilled over into the evening last night and this morning) resulted in a little visual and textural upgrade to my laser cut tables.
Available very soon on the website!
Let me know what you think!

A couple of miniature ladders, made from cocktail sticks and thin wood, alongside a jig used for rung spacing and some tweezers. All are shown on top of a green cutting mat.
A 30cm x 30cm terrain tile, made from MDF wood. There are detachable sections to allow a miniature to pass between street level and the sewer level below (which is partially visible to to cut-away sections on the sides). A miniature is positioned on the top for scale.
The result of yesterdays lunch break laser shenanigans... ladders for the sewer tiles to get to/from street level!
The 2nd pic is a modular tile 'cap', which should allow me to add sewer grates or stairs where I need them.

Finished the cobbling on the 2nd tile and I'm super happy with how they look together!
I think I'll be going back to the sewer/flat/church modular tiles next, where I'll need to work out how to allow for stairs down into basements and ladders down into sewers.

I decided to delay painting the previous tile until I had a few more ready.
So, here's another almost completed! Mostly just cobbles and stairs left to do. I added a private little boat dock for some rich merchant to unload their dodgy wares in secret.

Managed to finish off the stairs and the last of the cobblestones on this tile. I still need to add some details to the stair supports as they look too neat compared to the rest of it. Might add a few other details here & there, before I start undercoating.
