I cannot do moderation. I am either a wall or all-in hard in most situations.
Some people find me withdrawn at times but I honestly have to be for my and their safety, because I know I try to open myself up in the casual way others do, it is just a flood!

A good understanding of my brain:
I started watching Visions of Escaflowne casually and I just spent an hour pondering the fact that they chose to translate The Hanged Man into Italian as L'impiccato rather than the usual L'Appeso, and what it means for the themes. Even though it's probably nothing.

Oh loved that one. Read it when it first came out in English.
For review, I am reading Colin Wilson's The Black Room.

[March 4, 1971] Shuffling Back and Forth (British Comics Roundup) I thought it was a good time to get the lay of the land. Whilst some comics have carried on as usual, many others have seen major changes.

Yes, ylrhat is the thing with megastructures. Most of them probably don't make sense purely based on the knowledge gleaned in the book but they are advanced alien tech beyond human comprehension. Don't need to see the numbers.

Oh yes, very mediocre.
I recall reading somewhere (maybe in an intro?) that the main reason Niven wrote it was that someone had pointed out Ringworld was not technologically feasible and would collapse, so he wanted to deal with that issue.
If true seems a silly reason for a whole novel.

The one good cop who comes to town full of bright hope.

The kindly father figure who we discover has a darkness beneath the veil.

The diner/cafe that serves darn good coffee.

I could even see Finn having been a Bob host.

Darn I never thought of it before but you could so easily combine the two universes together. Some of the characters even feel like they could be direct parallels.

We need to ditch any whiff of Great Man quick smart. No one person is the movement! It doesn't matter who that person is. They're going to come after him, but they're really coming after *us*

Keep focus. We can bloody do this. We are so many more than them.

Political status: still missing Gordon Brown

Facebook just told me it's been a year to the day since my book came out. If you haven't bought it yet, don't you think you've held back long enough?

I half expect next Series to include a flashback to Ser Arlan saying "you think I can't read by I know Das Kapital by heart" and Egg organising strikes.

The final episode of King of the 7 Kingdoms definitely moved the class critique from thinly vieled subtext to 6ft neon letters.

[February 22, 1971] Science Against Man - Galactic Journey I turned to a couple of anthologies, one that was heavily British and in the high brow spirit, the other entirely Australian & more old fashioned.

I still sometimes wonder if his entire premiership is actually some kind of conceptual art piece.
How many people can you annoy and still stay in charge?

I do continue to find it amazing just how bad he is at just politics or people, and this is from someone who has the charisma of a potato.
I consider myself plugged in but even when he actually does good things I keep finding out in random ways.
How can he manage to annoy everyone?

I mean only the fake god tried in Owl House, the true God just established that it is okay to melt the skins off nazis and curb-stomp their bones. Important lesson for all children!

(Personally Lib Dems are further down my list because I am still not convinced after 2010 they wouldn't sell out the entire country to fascism for a whiff of power, but appreciate others don't hold to that).
