Oh delightful. Toad left, frog right. Can't tell from the pic of the frog but the toad is a chap - I can see a nuptial pad on the inside finger of his right hand (the blackish rough area on top of the finger). Always a delight to see these waking up now the weather is warming.

A protest sign saying “ABOLISH ICE NOW” leans against the wall. ~ (in kitchen) Tiff: I’ll get the kettle on. Elevate your foot.” Eve: “Yeah. I’ll use a stool.” ~ Tiff: (passing tea mug) “There was a lot of them out there.” Eve: (on phone) “A lot of us, too.” ~ (Tiff and Eve sit in Silence. Tiff looks into the middle distance while Eve drinks tea and scrolls her phone) ~ (reality interrupts) Eve: “ICE spotted going door-to-door 4 blocks East.” Tiff: “How’s your foot?” Eve: “Good. Let’s go.” ~ (Tiff and Eve stand in silence in the elevator. Tiff fidgets her fingers while Eve stands, eyes deadlocked ahead of her, with a protest sign.) ~ Tiff: “I’m scared, Eve.” Eve: “Yeah, me too.” ~ (Walking out the door into a crowd piling into the streets of Minneapolis) “But I feel braver with you.”

For real they are the cutest little leggy nuggets. I used to keep A.gigas, and when they occasionally 'gnawed' on me it was not too dissimilar to a garden snail licking you with their radula. Such slow gentle little beasts. Just gotta remember to wash your hands after handling

Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.

Definitely some truth in that. My best friend and I met when we were 5, people at school thought we were twins due to our similarities and the fact that we clung together like barnacles. 28 years later and we're still best friends. Turns out we both have similar flavours of the 'tism.
