Last night we watched R+J, with the exquisite visuals of Baz Luhrmann, and a soundtrack that still slaps. But my kids were SHOCKED when there was no happy resolution. I wish I had recorded their comments leading up to the ending. "Wake up! She's gonna wake up. Wait, what?! They're both DEAD?!?"

Life feels like a train that doesn't stop unless you force it to.
Missing baking from COVID times.
So last night, I stopped. Pulled out the sourdough and made English muffin dough with my lil gal. This morning we rolled, cut, & cooked before school. Warm, cozy breakfast. Almond milk worked in it!

Generations of interconnectedness between the Santores and the Vecchios, from South Philly restaurants all the way to Ukraine. Little did the kids know when they were toddlers just visiting our local library branch. Here, celebrating the release of Scroobious Pip.

Because moms need non-mom time. But that NEVER seems to happen when anywhere near home.

Adulting be like...what does one do with a funeral floral horseshoe after the funeral? Too beautiful to abandon, too short in the stems to vase. I guess my plate will be REALLY gussied up for meals for the next few days.

Despite the brutal temps outside, after a family funeral day and the world on fire and all, ice cream for dinner just felt like the right move.

Not sure exactly what was going on when heading to school today...but it's definitely a look.
