My feeling is that Iran is going for the complete humiliation and capitulation of the USA.

The disruption of Hormuz and its neighbouring countries will turn into a pressure that will be such that the USA will have to capitulate and accept the conditions that Iran will attach.

Fortunately most of the hatred is aimed at him.
