We need a name for this, something like vice-signalling, where people, usually in or around tech or finance, claim to do some quirky bullshit that patently doesn't work just so they can post about it to build their personal brand.

Tech guys who only read self help books struggling to understand Shii'ism and glorious martyrdom
For years we have had the supposed virtues of "grown-up politics" shoved down our throats as a front for an empty managerial administration of unchallenged power. This is where it leads. Some self-satisified briefcase dickhead on TV self-satisfyingly rationalising the massacre of schoolgirls.
In no way should we even begin to accept the bombing of a school full of children as part of the inevitable "realities of war" and anyone engaged in trying to convince you otherwise is a proponent of a grave and catastrophic evil
Wrote about how the simple world of influencers, rage baiters and Big Voices are starting to feel obsolete in a time where our reality is becoming more fractured and murky

has anyone studied the link between wistful indie sleaze and Alzheimerβs?
A rough time for diehard Libertines fans
It would be extremely annoying if the thing that finishes off Starmerβs premiership is the media being angry his reticence to commit to a war in Iran rather than all the other dumb stuff heβs been doing for the the last year.
Trade off meme:
you receive - end of civilisation
i receive - no more influencers
There was a period of time where you could get a bunch of likes, shares etc. by posting a generic platitude along the lines of "Stop killing each other you cunts" but a combination of global events and the abundance of reactive content has made it valueless
Very very good points in this. I've sometimes wondered if this moment will mark the end of the Influencer, both economically but also because as the degradation of the world intensifies, nobody really knows what to say anymore.

Fuck me theyβve quoted themselves like 30 times lol
lol
Surprised Balboa v Drago isn't on it with that event name, morons
100% coordinated - theyβre all saying the exact same thing lol
Just can't get over how America is visibly turning into a Paul Verhoeven film in front of all of our eyes
The only interesting fight is Pereira Gane, only because they're both great strikers and terrible at grappling. Topuria will flatten Gaethje in minutes, and not sure what Nickal is doing to keep getting invited on main events like this
Incredibly average card, and beyond parody it's being called UFC Freedom. Icing on the cake is that it's two main sponsors are for crypto and trucks lol
(brave and badass) to save my own lost inner child there is no limit to the number of actually existing children Iβm willing to kill
Thank god Arteta has stopped bringing him on in tight leads we need to defend. Heβs just not a goal scorer and has zero hold up play or pressing threat
Jesus is a great player but his race is run at Arsenal for sure
As an unwilling connoisseur of agitprop, Iran really hit it out of the park with "we're fighting the Epstein Class that either rapes children or kills them"
lmao
I am begging Americans to please try, just once, to form a normal relationship with their political figures and representatives.
Can't remember who said it, but its so true. The second you start posting 'reasonable concerns' about trans people you cease to ever post normally again.
Unfortunately, βYo brother, legal team confirmed we canβt work with minors rnβ is an instant classic
Actually doing something embarrassing is cool because Iβve been doing it for a long time
Labour is losing voters to progressive parties disproportionately. And they are not mainly "lanyard" professional or working classes, the oppositional forces of Blue Labour and right discourse. It's squeezed millennials in service careers. Which our politics ignores. β’ Demographically, most progressive defectors are frustrated lower middle class Millennials - not affluent urbanites or a PMC 'lanyard class. Though they have liberal social values, many are frustrated graduates; Millennials with a mortgage or rent they are struggling to afford - primary school teachers, IT support or clerical workers. In short, the face of the modern social democratic voter.
Speaking as a lower middle class graduate with an office job and a mortgage, born in the late seventies, I would say: this is half my social circle and most of the people I worked with for years. How in the name of Christ did nobody in politics or media see this coming?
