That's such a bummer. I've never used any kind of connected toy, but have always been curious about them. Guess I know a brand to avoid, at least.
@korphyn
Just your average (or so I think) gryphon living their best (beast?) life in Japan. Been here for some time, though my language skills don't reflect that well. >.< I'm working on it, I swear! JMoF2025 was awesome! My sociables - https://korphyn.carrd.co/

Taking the train was the right call today. I got to see Ponta!
He got his own finish line photo!

Those are adorable! So cute!
They knew. You KNOW they knew.
I've been basing my build on the Interstate 75W and using Thonny for coding. It's a solid little board, and probably more than enough for what I want to do, but I also wouldn't mind something more plug&play for protogen usage.

Very cool! Do you sell the software separate from full heads? I'm working on a protogen of my own, and have a head and LED matrices already. I've been using a pimoroni controller board, but your setup seems way more advanced than the simple animations I've made by myself.
And here I am just wanting to be a fluffy robot in real life - with boobs.
Soon...
Interesting beer discoveries tonight at YaMaYa. The one in the middle is from Latvia, and the others are from Lithuania. Total for all three pints? ยฅ1,000!
Welcome back!
iPad Pro M1, and the capture card is a Genki ShadowCast 2. Orion is the name of the iOS app that displays the captured video. I've used this setup at work a few times, and it works quite well. Looking forward to giving it the airplane test soon.
Ready to join up as well! Hit me up with that info. ๐บ
It's really nice! The usb-c port supports external displays, so it's easy to hook it up to a TV, monitor, or even a tablet if you've got a capture card. DS and 3DS don't always play nice with that, but the WiiU emulator does.
It may not be a PC, or have those resolutions, but check out the Ayn Thor. It's a dual-screen Android handheld that can run just about anything. Over had one for a little while now, and it excels at DS, 3DS, and WiiU emulation. If can even run some Switch and PC games.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the developer of this area may have a thing for foxes.
Do you use a similar setup for the videos you make of your avatar in the real world, like the airport and Loisir hotel ones?
So cool! What app are you using to do this?
Oh look! Something new to add to the "things I wanna put in my mouth" list.

An obvious sign of a weekend well spent.
Any bird furries driving to #JMoF2027 from the Kanto side may want to consider stopping at the NEOPASA Okazaki service area for a good photo op. 0v0

You did such great work, and I'm eager to see what you can do with a larger venue. Looking forward to next year, and to all the Mondays in Japan between now and then!
No idea which hotel I'll end up at, but I'm going to have my car, and am willing to coordinate shopping or dining runs if anybody's up for it. It's only a four-seater (Honda N-Box), but I'll do what I can to help others.
A 3-minute ride (trains run every 30 minutes) gets you to Rinku-Tokoname Station, home to Aeon Mall Tokoname, which looks massive. Shops, restaurants, groceries and more! There's also a go-kart track! Wonder if they'll let us drive in suit...
Looking at Google Maps and doing some early mental prep for #JMoF2027. It looks like the Comfort Hotel Chubu International Airport might be a good pick for those without cars. It's the closest to Aichi Sky Expo, and has a covered walkway connection to the Meitetsu Airport Line.
Heading home from #JMoF2026 and stopped at the Numazu service area for some goodies. Many service areas feel like they were designed with the views in mind. Great view of the sea from this one, but not a lot of Fuji in sight.
Of the 172 coins I took to #JMoF2026, I have 71 left. I gave one to just about every person who asked for a photo, and also left some on the business card tables. The white one was the least popular one (always some left on the tables), so I won't be making any more of those. ^.^
791 suiters, out of 2,524 attendees, makes for just over 31% of the total con population in suit. That's nuts!
(Thanks to FurPokezan9501 over on Twitter for doing the counting!)
Big news from the #JMoF2026 closing ceremony! Next year they'll be moving the con to Aichi Sky Expo, a full-on convention center with 5 hotels nearby. Let's go, #JMoF2027!
Here's the group fursuit photo from #JMoF2026. That's a lot of suiters!
The one discussion panel I was going to attend at #JMoF2026 - the one about being a greymuzzle - got cancelled due to the presenter not feeling well.
I'm sure there's a joke there to be made, but I'm to tired to think of it myself.
