We have an Urban Arrow and I’m very impressed you fit in it with the car seat installed! That was a tight fit for my 3-4yo!
Happy last day of the month!
I have quite a few rent needs and not enough donors, so if you have a couple bucks to drop in the rent pool, you can venmo me @ziibiing
If you can give $500 or more message me on signal at asiniiwiikwe.72
Oh I know, I’m a city planner so I receive those types of comments from the public. I just wonder why people are so worried about single-family homes being torn down when the owners of those homes have to choose to sell in the first place.
I wonder who people are actually concerned about when they say this. I’ve talked to homeowners who have sold their single-family homes to developers and they were very happy to have gotten that payday. It’s an option in the back of my mind in case my foundation disintegrates or something.
Hi all 👋 - mutual aid request incoming
Our family is connected to a neighbor family through Lyndale school, a mom with two young boys. They are very sweet and hate asking for help (same!) but they really need it right now as they’ve been scared to leave their house since December due to ICE
Minnesota is facing serious and growing challenges in the midst of ongoing federal occupation and violence, and our communities are calling for meaningful change. Protest can be a powerful tool for challenging unjust systems and pushing leaders to act. At the same time, actions like rent strikes can carry significant legal and financial risks. Minnesota renters deserve clear information about those risks so they can make informed decisions about whether participating is the right choice for them. <HOME Line logo>
RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN A RENT STRIKE -Threats/retaliation from landlord -Eviction / Forced move -Loss of a rental subsidy -Non-renewal of lease -Long-term credit and rental history problems --Owing additional money on top of your regular monthly payment (late fees, court fees, and attorney fees—could be $400+) <HOME Line logo>
PEOPLE AT SIGNIFICANT RISK -Tenants who cannot afford to pay the additional fees associated with an eviction. -Tenants who have subsidies. -Tenants who would have difficulty attending court or representing themselves due to language, transportation, or employment barriers. -Tenants on a month-to-month lease or leases that may soon expire. -Tenants with roommates- if a roommate doesn’t pay their rent, the eviction is for all tenants. <HOME Line logo>

We had $18k in rent requests come in just today (so far).
We’re anticipating needs at our neighborhood school to be over $100k again this month, but this time donations are WAY down. We don’t have enough money to cover everyone.
Please help us keep our neighbors w/ young kids from being evicted!
Hi friends! I am fundraising rent for a family in my neighborhood with two young kids. They have been unable to work due to ICE’s presence. They are a very sweet family and so thankful for any help we give them, I want to make sure they stay housed. If you can contribute I’m @lindsey-aster on Venmo.
I’m not an expert in this area, but I think it has to do with how projects are scored for affordable housing dollars through governmental programs. I’m a City of Minneapolis planner and it came up when we reviewed the Nicollet options as a team.
Both of these projects include affordable housing which, unfortunately, often needs high parking ratios to secure funding.
This one is for my neighborhood if anyone wants to chip in and help my neighbors stay housed.
Minneapolis's resistance to ICE would not have been possible without its urban density. You can't have 100 people run up on every kidnapping within a few minutes without dense city neighborhoods!
It's also why I don't think ICE is likely to just try again in other big cities in the same way.

I left a review yesterday and there were about a dozen new one-star reviews at the time. Today, I can only see my own. Suspicious.

My neighborhood school collectively fundraised over $100,000 to support our neighbors with rent and bills this last month.
Now we need to do it all over again for March.
PLEASE HELP!
Every family we're working to keep housed & fed has elementary aged children.

Heading to Isla Mujeres??? We were just there and this looks extremely familiar.
Lots of people biking fast in the car lanes on Hennepin downtown! That’s what struck me as especially weird, since the nice new protected bike lane is right there.
Ohhhh that’s why I saw so many fast bikers when we went to the downtown library today!

When you run into friends, neighbors and coworkers at a memorial, when you show up to help and run into so many other helpers, when someone you’ve never met before hugs you in thanks, it highlights the absolute best parts of humanity. We keep each other safe.
