I agree this is the case with all “famous” actors, however, I find Oldman far more believable as Jackson Lamb than I find DiCaprio as a South African diamond smuggler. I just think DiCaprio has a far more limited range than the roles in which he is cast. IMO he can excel - but only within his range.
I challenge anyone who extols the acting talents of DiCaprio to name a role he’s played such a way that you managed to forget for even a moment that you were watching “Leonardo DiCaprio”. Except Blood Diamond - which was DiCaprio playing DiCaprio with an accent.
I have my doubts re how well these will sell. I can see a point where nobody is willing to be caught dead in them for fear of looking like a creep or worse. I can’t see this being deemed socially acceptable by a large part of the population.
