Officer David Rose, 33, a former Marine and DeKalb County officer, has been added to CDCβs memorial plaque, honoring those who gave their lives in service of public health. He died protecting our CDC campus, staff, and contractors during a 2025 act of domestic terrorism fueled by misinformation.
Lilian Vaughan Morgan was an incredible #WomenInSTEM that ought to be a household name.
The fly community still uses tools she discovered a century ago. πͺ°π€―

If itβs true that the United States bombed an elementary school and killed scores of children it is an unfathomable crime. I have never been more disgusted to be an American.

I have a male friend who spent some time in Axel's lab. About the 3rd conversation he had with Axel, Axel broke the ice with "So, have you fucked [a female postdoc in the lab] yet?"
My friend was horrified...

This image is a public health graphic promoting flu vaccination. The background is green with a forest silhouette, suggesting an outdoor, natural setting. At the top, large text reads: βA flu vaccine can take flu fromβ. In the center, the word βWILDβ appears in bold white letters next to a large elk with prominent antlers. To the right, the phrase βto mildβ appears in lighter script, next to a small deer fawn, visually contrasting severe illness with a milder outcome. At the bottom, the message says: βTalk to your health care provider to tame the worst of flu.β A #FightFlu tag and the logo of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention appear in the lower right corner.
πInfluenza activity continues to be high across the nation. Thereβs still time to benefit from getting a flu vaccine. π

This image is a public health infographic about measles and how easily it spreads. Headline: βMEASLESβ appears in large white letters at the top, with the logo of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the upper right. Main message: Measles is highly contagious and spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Visual illustration: A large red figure represents one infected person. Surrounding orange figures represent people exposed to infection. One darker figure suggests someone not infected or protected. Key statistic: If one person has measles, 9 out of 10 people nearby who are not protected will also become infected.
Measles is one of the most contagious viruses we know of. Once the percentage of people in a population who are immune to measles falls below ~90%, measles can rapidly infect non-immune and immunosuppressed people throughout a community. This is what we are seeing now across the country.
HEY! Are you around Boise???? We need volunteers to support an event there!

Adults every 10 years minimum
