Like everything else with Trump, the short-term impact will be significantly less than the most catastrophic possibility predicted, which will lead to everybody ignoring all of the long-term effects.
We're dealing with a time that will last for however long and do however much untold damage, in which the worst bigots are in power, and siding with them and accommodating their perspective is unforgivably cowardly. It's important to point out who the cowards are so we can remember who they were.
