NB Power said their forecast of a "critical energy shortfall" of 400 MW by 2028 doesn't include the impact of a proposed AI data centre in Saint John which would draw 190 MW from the grid: tj.news/new-brunswic...
NEW: Green party Leader David Coon is calling for a public inquiry into security at N.B. long-term care homes in light of alleged sex abuse at a Saint John home. Liberals say they're reviewing policies and procedures. tj.news/new-brunswic...
Locking in at 6:30 p.m. in that case
Hey, let's not move past the Pee Wee's Playhouse episode featuring Ray Wise and Frank Silva. Who directed that?
Montreal bopping Bradley's Red Bulls in New York is so counter to both team's narratives right now, wow #mls
Weathergirl from the Flavor Foley MV except she is wearing earmuffs and a scarf and mitts and holding a shovel
Weathergirl by @flavorfoley.bsky.social except the weather looks like snow
Picked this up on Bandcamp and it's very pretty

"listen, we keep inventing new scams and you keep shooting them down, that's not very open minded of you. Be fair, you have to pick at least one scam to blow your cash on"
Props to the Canadian pairs figure skater Maxime who has a single shoulder pad like Mad Max on his costume, I dig it #olympics
Director Taylor Olsen speaks on stage for a Q&A following a screening of What We Dreamed Of Then at Saint John's Imperial Theatre Thursday.
Just saw What We Dreamed of Then, filmed in Saint John, and it was really, really, good. A well-told personal story about an unraveling and a really sensitive portrayal of unseen homelessness. Elements of Nomadland and The Last Five Years, NB looked great on screen but I think it could play anywhere
Wrote about a 2022 workplace accident at the Bayside wharf for which a Cooke, Inc. subsidiary was ordered to pay $6,000 after pleading guilty to an OHSA charge: tj.news/saint-john-s...

(On top of the fact that there was, of course, lots and lots of political commentary: bsky.app/profile/beck...)
washingtonpost.com bluesky post: "Analysis: Weeks before he set foot on the stage, Bad Bunnyβs halftime performance had already become a media event. But if you were looking for political commentary, the closest that you got was when he said βGod bless Americaβ in English." Link headline: "Analysis | Bad Bunnyβs Super Bowl halftime show was expected to provoke. Did it?" Link subhead: "The Bad Bunny Super Bowl show nodded to injustices in Puerto Rico but mostly evoked wholesome family values that meshed with the more sentimental commercials."
Another thing about this framing that's so busted is that the part that was "expected to provoke" is that he's not white/Anglo. It's often the targets of bigotry depicted as acting out, when in fact it's bigots driving the conversation and the targets are just existing, putting out bangers
Everyone ended up married after, Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin guest spots, a Grammys callback, pan-American solidarity, wins all round
Halftime show was great, sounded great, the setting was cool and the ending was killer
my colleague @sarahjeong.bsky.social did some service journalism www.theverge.com/policy/86857...
Finished the game: fun to play, very beautiful, exploring an alien world was very cool but some parts of the story were very boneheaded. the cutscene explaining the antagonist's deal, to the extent there was one, was hidden under an Amiibo paywall unless you got 100% items AND 100% scans (I didn't)
Time for the Metroid Prime 4 boss, meaning it's time for my Metroid Prime tradition: looping You Say Party's album Lose All Time while challenging the final boss
what a trash move
Per Marca, the linked QT is likely false, but I think your idea that some folks won't get on planes is likely, especially if there's a related incident before the tournament/in its first week. However, I feel like many folks in the market for high-end MWC tickets must feel isolated from Consequences
It feels like the reason this happens so often is because the "break up the tag team" option is always available, so if the writers/bookers are out of story ideas or just don't care to come up with an alternative it's the only one left
They need to shortlist #1000xResist on Canada Reads because I want to hear it talked about that way, we need to have a national conversation about this
Finished 1000xResist last night and it is still living in my head rent free wow
Screenshot of a tweet from BC_Bryson on May 11, 2023: There was a tweet a while back about Major League Soccer that was something to the effect of "MLS absolutely bangs because every week some 19-year old named Cayden Brayden Grayden will pull out some world-class shit and then literally Gonzalo HiguaΓn will miss a sitter"
How is this going to affect the market for imaginary MLS prospect Cayden Brayden-Grayden
Through Legault resigning and this Walrus story I learned about Pierre Trudeau's walk in the snow, which is just a tremendous metaphor for a political exit www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIW2...
