Imagine being a company with money leaking out of every orifice, and instead of hiring and having full time artists creating assets you fire them and rely on AI slop and plagiarism.
Pretty embarrassing...

I long for the days where social media wasn't owned by a small group of monopolies.
I'd really like a hyperfocused game development community like TIGsource again, that isn't hosted on an absurd, hyper hive-mind power-tripping mod website like Reddit.
"Use tigsource then," as if it wasn't dead.
So for the past four days I've been getting stuck into the bullet hell game jam #bullethelljam on @itch.io , squeezing out time after work and on the weekends, finally making the final release build to submit!
Very neat novel dithering approach by former colleague Rune Skovbo, Iโm sure it will find cool uses beyond simple shape shading.

At least he isn't on second life having e-sex with young girls like Mr. Thor

At the heart of the release is a move to C++ 17.

Weird feeling bad saying, "no thanks, it's fine!" when a restaurant insists on giving you something free for it taking a tiny fraction of time extra to make than normal. Why do you insist? I'm okay lol....
Refactoring refactors to avoid more refactors as a result of a refactor. Facts.
Ugh
I love the moon texture
Sometimes you'll be exploring your options and see that one service provides an excellent player data service, but it's leaderboard system is lacking considerably, so you'll look elsewhere and find the greatest leaderboard feature set ever, but it's player data services are dogwater.
The usability disparity between various BaaS solutions in the #gamedev industry can be frustrating.
They each have their advantages and disadvantages, but each one has its own little esoteric method of madness to interact with it, each has their own idea of what is and isn't useful for developers.
Even then, those subjective thoughts are little more than attempts to refit that data in a way that will justify, or evidence your already firm feelings.
It doesn't matter how much data you collect. It can often times simply reframe those prior arguments based on subjective opinion to the same people arguing based on interpretive (not objective) analysis.
All you end up doing is deferring decisions from subjective feelings to subjective thoughts.
Scope creep is real. Don't ever let anyone gaslight into thinking it isn't. #gamedev
Big shout out to the inventor of pesto.
