Ms Rachel has shifted from advocating for children killed by bombs that our taxes pay for, to advocating for children that our government is imprisoning without cause, which our taxes also pay for.
This isn’t what a kid’s entertainer should feel the need to do, but since we’re here, more ppl should.

🌟 New edpsy blog

In this personal and reflective piece Minoushe connects the personal to the professional and political.

She explores biculturalism, identity and a call to recognise that we cannot claim to be neutral in our practice.

This election was a choice between hope and hate, and the people of Gorton and Denton chose hope 💚

🎉 Huge congratulations to the Honourable Member for Gorton and Denton! And to everyone who helped make this happen 👏

I can't wait to see you on Monday, Hannah, and give you the biggest, proudest hug

🚨Our first 'emergency' pod?

In this special release we ask question of and reflect on the government's new draft safeguarding guidance that now includes a section on 'children who question their gender'

We've got some concerns...

In loving memory of our dad Bas. Raising money with family and friends for Brain Tumour Research. Help Elizabeth Julia George raise money to support Brain Tumour Research

*sincere post klaxon* (CW: death)

My Dad died from a brain tumour caused by CNS lymphoma a year ago.

It’s a rare and underfunded disease. If anyone would like to support, we are raising money for charity.

Share if you can, only donate if you can afford to.

The way this information is dropping and the fact no one is losing their job, let alone in prison, is spiritual and psychological warfare that we have to protect ourselves and children against.

Keeping children safe in education: 2026 proposed revisions - Department for Education - Citizen Space Find and participate in consultations run by the Department for Education

This is the link to the consultation on the changes to KCSIE. Let's flood the consultation with responses pointing out why it's so problematic and will make children and young people less safe. I started teaching when section 28 was still in place. Not again!

New DFE guidance on 'Gender questioning' children as part of KCSIE out today. Citing the flawed Cass review. The same week that a FOI to the National Child Mortality Database showed an increase in suicide in trans kids since pathways were restricted. Following the science would not lead to this doc.

Very valid to feel overwhelmed by it all. Be gentle with yourself. This exchange has been a positive reminder for me that we haven't lost our humanity, and that there are others that care about and are affected by the same things x

Big hugs, feeling exactly the same. The double standards are laid bare, but what difference is it making? I'm reading the Combahee River Collective book to try and ground myself in the possible.

Leader of the council had to make a point of saying that the arrested child is a British national born in the UK, reminding people that their identity cannot be shared as they are a child. Ridiculous that this had to be stated to grown adults.

Thinking about the boys who were stabbed at school yesterday, and the wonderful staff at Kingsbury High who do their best to support their school community. It's sad to see media outlets & individuals using this tragedy to construct a narrative about Islam, instead of care for the children involved.

Before this we heard a moving presentation from @edpsydan.bsky.social about how the support net of the benefits system can inflict harm on children and their families.

Listening to @lucaonions.bsky.social at the @eps4change.bsky.social community learning day, sitting with all the emotions that come with hearing the perspectives of neurodivergent trans children, and hearing my own child's voice in their voices.

When you say that everyone's rights and freedoms are interconnected, you often get blank or puzzled responses. To highlight this point, hunger striker Qesser Zuhrah is being denied an ambulance at Bronzefield, the same prison that denied care for Aisha Cleary during labour.

Streeting orders review into mental health and ADHD diagnosis The health secretary said the aim was to tackle a rising demand for services and the increased pressure on the NHS.

Considering Streeting's well stated belief autism, ADHD etc, along with mental health issues, are "overdiagnosed", I won't hold my breath for this doing anything other than being used to cut support, along with opportunities for diagnosis, for people who need it. #r4today

Blood on their hands;

EVERY "gender-critical" transphobe - yes including the very rich ones, the bigoted "journalists" who abuse their power, the unacademic academics and the "comedians" who make transphobic "jokes" - are respnsible for this poor cis women's death.

Transphobia *harms* cis women.

Quite a bloody cheek, this, given the UK has the most hostile regime towards healthcare for young trans people and their families in the world (www.gov.uk/government/s...).

"She could have had the lucrative career of performative activism she was being lined up for. But by shunning this path, she shows up so many liberals for the frauds they are. She also puts a spotlight on all the big climate scientists who’ve never once said genocide is bad for the environment."

UK's Labour Party Abandoned Trans People. Here's What American Dems Can Learn. Democrats: There is no “middle ground” on equal rights. Take it from UK Labour.

UK's Labour Party abandoned transgender people. The gambit to pursue rightwing voters by abandoning a targeted minority failed, and now they're facing the prospect of a historic loss.

US Dems could learn a lot from their failure.

Great piece from S. Baum.

Imagine being a non-White person in the UK.

Now imagine being constantly asked for your Digital ID, just because "We are checking."

It is going to be like that, it ALWAYS is.
