A narrow, paved laneway winding through autumn trees that are bright shades of yellow, orange, green, and hues of dark red and copper. It is a cloudy day but the sky is bright.
I'm not sure where I'm going, but I know I'll get there.

Stunning! The colors and clarity. Beautiful shot, Mary.
Thanks, Mary. I hope you are enjoying September's gifts. ποΈ
September in New England is perhaps the most beautiful of all the months.
Today I meandered the seacoast farms of southeastern Massachusetts, and what a day it was. ποΈ

It is a gorgeous day on the coast south of Boston.
I found my way to a farm for organic veggies, meandered the quiet dirt roads on foot, and made a new friend.

Oh my goodness, you're right! I see it. Wow. Great eye. Thanks for looking past the ordinary.
All is well, thank you. Not ready to let go of summer, so getting out for lots of walks in cemeteries, the park, and by the sea. I hope you are doing well and enjoying the good weather. ποΈ

Love this, Mary! The color is lovely. Great shot!
The squirrels at my local park are out in force munching on the seeds inside the helicopters falling from maple trees. Getting ready for the change of seasons.
In the early 80s, there was a cool novelty shop in Portsmouth called Ye Old Lion & The Lamb. It was owned and run by an older couple. Their chonky Siamese cat Victor was the resident feline. He was usually sleeping in his bed among the merchandise with sign next to him that said not to disturb! πΈ
Thanks, Mary. ποΈ
I grew up going to cemeteries on the regular with my family to visit the graves of elders that passed. It was an afternoon out of the house together. Not everyone will understand the draw to these places. It stirs emotions as you mentioned, and reminds us how precious our lives really are. ποΈ

Since I was a wee girl, Iβve been walking in cemeteries. Sometimes I read the epitaphs out loud; I say their names and wonder what life was like in 1762 or 1845 or 1901.

August is my favorite month. Itβs when I reflect on the months behind me, and what is yet to come. I make my resolutions and embrace every ephemeral bit of summer, in case it is my last.

I happened upon this little painted stone while walking at the cemetery.

It was 90F (32c) along the southeast coast of Massachusetts today.
I walked at an old cemetery with lots of big shade trees, and beautiful gravestones from the past 350+ years. Old souls. ποΈ

I'm doing well, thank you, and hope you are as well.π
I walked in a cemetery today too, lol. It was hot, but shady, and all the critters were busy. Many centuries-old gravestones. New England is pretty special. So much early-American history.
Thanks, Mary! It's a beautiful cemetery, a lovely place to walk, take photos, think about our early history, and see lots of birds and stunning trees. And you gotta hear the bells!
The Hingham Bell Tower, at the edge of Hingham Cemetery where I sometimes walk. They ring the bells on Saturday mornings (Iβm told it takes 9 people to ring them) and it is glorious to listen to while strolling the old lanes in the cemetery.

A bit disappointing that the blooms aren't fragrant, but the lilacs are also in bloom and their sweet scent kept me company as I strolled through this cemetery. ποΈ
These flowers are not fragrant, unfortunately. Iβve read that they are edible and can be used in salads though Iβve never tried them πΊ
