It is not an exaggeration to say so. The Lemkin Institute states we're in the early stages of a genocide against transgender people.

Imagine the reaction in the US if ~175 schoolgirls had been killed by a targeted Iranian missile. (Or anyone's missile.)
This is an atrocity.
Finishing things is such underrated writing advice. You need to learn your habits and what tools you use not just to have an idea or start a story, but to finish them. You need to get used to it, and then observe how you can do it better. That starts by finishing stories at all.
Her trip to Ireland was ruined by this one question?? Gee, I wonder whyβ¦
1910 Women could wear pants 1920 White women could vote 1963 Women gained equal paid rights (sort of) 1965 Black women could vote 19 69 Women were allowed to initiate divorce 1972 Women could get birth control, without a man 1973 Women could choose to get an abortion, legally 1974 Women could buy a home, without a man 1988 Women could own their own business, without Nomesticial protection agains 2022 Women lost the constitutional right to abortion
Strong reminder: women have not been independent for as long as some folks would like you to believe. Weβve lost rights that we never should have lost.
These were not the precedented times I wanted to go back to :(
While the McDonaldβs CEO gets roasted for his awkward burger taste test...
McDonaldβs is among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.
And McDonald's CEO recently raked in $18.2M β over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.
That should leave a bad taste in your mouth.
kind of crazy that if you have enough money and don't like what you see in the media, you can just buy up every film studio, news station, and social media app and change it
Never forget that this company-destroying boycott was started through the efforts of minority groups actually taking action by refusing to support a corporation that took NO TIME AT ALL to reverse their DEI policies the moment that doing so would benefit them.
It takes time, and commitment, to win.
We cannot and should not let generative AI take away these tiny, insignificant, but probably fun as hell jobs from artists
This is amazing.

February 26, 2026 Dear members of the Columbia community: This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security entered a Columbia Residential building and detained a student. We are working to gather more information, working to reach the family, and providing legal support. Our understanding at this time is that the federal agents made misrepresentations to gain entry to the building to search for a "missing person." We are working to gather more details. It is important to reiterate that all law enforcement agents must have a judicial warrant or judicial subpoena to access non-public areas of the University, including
It is important to reiterate that all law enforcement agents must have a judicial warrant or judicial subpoena to access non-public areas of the University, including housing, classrooms, and areas requiring CUID swipe access. An administrative warrant is not sufficient. If law enforcement agents seek entry to non-public areas of the University, ask the agents to wait to enter any non-public areas until contacting Public Safety. Public Safety will contact the Office of the General Counsel to coordinate the University's response. Do not allow them to enter or accept service of a warrant or subpoena. We will update our community as additional information becomes available. Sincerely,

PS the English prose is fucking CRISP, chef kiss, love it, wish that could be me someday
Must confess that the strong implications of canon butchfemme WLW charmed me instantly too ^^
I also appreciate that the story never clubs the reader over the head with any patronizing exposition? It feels like there's plenty of space to read between the lines and I like having that room to explore and mull over everything
Brisk read at about ~150 pages, loved the mix of classic sparkly magical girl concepts and aesthetics with the gritty realism of, well, everything that comes with living in the modern day... touches on dark themes but the humour interspersed throughout means it never gets overwhelmingly heavy
Devoured A Magical Girl Retires in one sitting and looking forward to the sequel π
She fucking nailed it. π
They won't start with banning birth control. First they'll lie about it. Then dictate who can prescribe it, use it, fund it, in what forms, and for how long. Suddenly, your doctor won't call you back. I know this is what they'll do because it's what they're doing to transgender healthcare right now.
the connections trump had to multiple "modeling agencies" that were actually fronts for human trafficking is pretty interesting! i mean, maybe not AS interesting as the question of whether tim walz visited china in may or june of 1989, but like, at least moderately newsworthy imho
Tapping the sign
They beat a blind refugee who speaks no English for failing to obey police commands he could not understand. Then instead of apologizing, they charged him with possession of a βweaponββHIS WALKING STICK. Then they dumped him miles from home without notifying anyone, after which he was found dead.
Even better!! I'll be looking forward to it π
Authors with no naming sense aughh (punches the floor) (punches the floor) (punches the floo
Am inconsolable about being half a world away and thus unable to attend (don't suppose there's any hope for an online stream/recording?)... but super excited for you, hope it goes swimmingly!
The Ford Pinto had a death rate of 85 people for 10 million cars sold. The Cybertruck hasn't sold 10 million, but the fatality rate so far maths out to 1,452 people killed per 10 million sold.
The Cybertruck may be the deadliest road car, for the occupants, ever sold.

An ICE agent shot and killed Ruben Ray Martinez, a US citizen and San Antonio resident, in March 2025. Then ICE and the Texas Department of Public Safety covered it up. He was 23 years old. I am calling for a full investigation into this shooting, including why there was an 8-month cover up.
