Surprised by how little ad data about me I received. Just a list of ads I've clicked on.
BUT a very useful feature of downloading your data, in my opinion, is that you receive an HTML file with all of your "Saved" posts and collections!
Go download your data. It's yours.
They also take forever to give it to you and then they only give you 4 days to download it before they delete it lmfao
You have to request the data directly from your Meta accounts centre. They come in zipped folders full of mostly HTML files. Two of the smaller folders I was able to unzip without any additional software. The biggest folder (~5gb) would not unzip for me, but using 7 Zip software to unzip worked
I'm in the process of downloading my data from Meta. It is (unsurprisingly) quite a process. Feels pretty good to finally have a copy of everything... it's about 12 years of data! #dataprivacy
