Hump day. 11th March. At half seven this morning it's 6.9Β° in #Glasgow and overcast. It's not raining but the yellow bin lorries are out and about being noisy and blocking traffic. It poured down most of yesterday btw. Today looks like it's going to be much the same. Oh well.

Shadows Playing Tricks On Us (10Β Photos) These pieces don't just sit on walls, they wait for the sun. From lace-like sunlight in Slovakia to floating butterflies in Minnesota and a horse rising out of a painted pool in Germany, these artists know exactly how to use shadows, shading, and illusion to make ordinary surfaces lie to us. Here are 10 pieces that prove shadows might be the sneakiest street art collaborators of all!

I suppose people feel they have a right to fret online and to protest on the street. While it does no good, I think many do all that instead of taking care of business, neglecting what really matters. Others virtue signal, or feel moral superiority via religion, or socially bond through it

I hope it comes right and quickly too. This put 40 minutes onto my son's bus commute home! I wonder what a city is when venues and pubs are closing, retail is online and people work from home. As Cally Uni is almost bankrupt, I can't see student flats as the answer. What will replace this building??

Good morning. It's damp outside, but not raining here in #Glasgow. Overcast and 7.3Β° this Tuesday morning at half seven, 10th March. Busy day ahead for me too.

So much for the low emission zone in #Glasgow. That Union St Fire will have spewed lead, asbestos and heaven knows what else all over the city

I'm actually old enough to remember the whole city being black! We somehow didn't notice it (we noticed the world suddenly going from monochrome to colour when the stone-cleaning of the 1980s finished)!

I know. We qualify for the World Cup & beat France in the Rugby, and then the US starts a war and yet another building burns down in the city centre causing yet more havoc. It's a certainly a roller-coaster ride!

It's super sad to lose a musical instrument shop. This has been here for decades. I've bought so many guitars and strings and things here. It was Kenny's Music. It's harder to start playing any instrument without the advice for the staff and having a go. #Glasgow #Guitars #Kenny's

#Pothole repairs are simply not good enough; they only last days!, in many instances the repair has been forced to spill out of the pothole onto the surrounding pavement! It's ridiculous! Shoddy work #Glasgow @glasgowcc.bsky.social

Honestly. The potholes were bad, but the repairs are worse! This lasted mere days! What a waste of money #Glasgow! What on Earth is the point? #Potholes

I took a photographs of Queen Park's gate at Pollokshaws Road #Glasgow. One had the flash on. You couldn't get a bigger contrast, could you?

Here is a "close" that didn't agree to the stone-cleaning of the 1980s. The blonde sandstone of the tenements of the area are in sharp contrast with the sooty black layer. Imagine what it would've been like when ALL the buildings were this black! #Glasgow #Southside

It's always nice when a #Glasgow shop retains and works with original period features, such as this Turkish Bakers on Victoria Road in the #southside. Isn't that lovely?

Up the secret lanes off Victoria Road (which has a main bicycle highway nowadays) in the #Southside of #Glasgow are hidden bike-people treasures. Note the lack of car park in favour of the bike park!

The sheer variety of architectural styles in this one picture taken on Victoria Road in #Southside of #Glasgow is nuts. Far left is a 4-storey tenement. Then a 3-storey fronted by a single-storey set of shops. Then a bookies topped by a Tudor storey with a structure on top of that! Then more styles!

Before the city fire, the sun was out yesterday for a lovely Sunday afternoon stroll about #Glasgow #Southside I love that the residents have decided to pick out in silver the iron acanthus on the black painted railings

I like the optimistic tone. The city today tasted of smoke, and the mood was pretty glum. I think it's come at a bad time because access to the city is basically bottlenecked right down anyway, this adds to the struggle to get in and get home, and it'll affect the football, the summer, the concerts
