It should be illegal for insurance companies to leave people in the lurch when disaster strikes.

It's absolutely INSANE.

Watch Duty, a Wildfire-Tracking App, Provides a Lifeline in Los Angeles A nonprofit runs the app with volunteers and full-time employees, including retired firefighters and dispatchers, to provide live updates on fire conditions.

An American city is on fire and the world’s richest man has done nothing but lie and make it worse.

Thank you to the people who are actually putting their lives on the line to save this country and fuck that spoiled rotten limp dick South African and any of the tough guys who live to kiss his ass.

I am pretty tired of the way all my hard work making fun little Internet posts keeps putting power into the hands of dickholes.

Secretary Buttigieg visited CMU today. I got to thank him for speaking at our White House ARPA-I Summit in 2023, but more importantly for all the work he’s led on climate & equity at DOT. A really phenomenal Secretary of Transportation.

A very sad day for me. Had to say goodbye to our cat, Reggie. He'd been fighting diabetes for over a year, but he was in pain with arthritis and his kidneys were failing, so the kindest thing to do was let him go. No more pain for him now, just an endless sleep. He will be missed.

Wall Street looks forward to a bonfire of capital and climate rules under Trump Profits are poised to dominate in a new era shorn of years of hard-won regulatory restrictions

Wall Street looks forward to a bonfire of capital and climate rules under Trump.

It is all about profits as they ditch post-2008 crash rules, climate and responsibility goals even as parts of the US burn and freeze.

They still expect people to bailout banks.

COVID 5 years later: Learning from a pandemic many are forgetting Five years after SARS-CoV-2 surfaced, scientists reflect and look ahead to the next threat

🦠I attended a fantastic meeting of coronavirologists (et al.) in early December. @cohenjon.bsky.social covered it for Science and really captured the essence, the urgency, and even the spicy bits. Watching him work, live, was pretty rad, and this is a great read www.science.org/content/arti...
