I’m a trans human approaching 30. I’ve worked in healthcare since my college years and professional career. Access to proper healthcare in the US is crisis as whether mental or physical or mental health. Gender affirming care is important for youth and adults alike.
@leavittalone.bsky.social and @victoriascott.bsky.social both of these are honestly rad. I’m close to 30 and nothing that adventurous in my life. My case I go heh remember when my non-binary rear was taught there are only 2 genders. Then return to placing heated chicken from the market in my bento🍱

I am a big fan of this human. If any of the people I worked with or people I served as a therapist (if I am/was your therapist don’t follow or dm me that’s therapy 101), follow them and check out their content. It’s informative, funny, and them as a person and their content make my heart happy.
I think there’s a level of sadness I can feel about not being able to access parts of the world, physical, social or otherwise. I feel sadness for able bodied people more. They’ll never know what we are capable of and the depth of what they take from us.
The diminishment of our value. Our value and worth not seen by able bodies. While many of us may experience conditions that could decline over time. That doesn’t mean talk and treat us like infants. We still have value and strength in those stages.
I really identify as a disabled person with the words “taken from me”. We have worth and our strengths and abilities hold value. For me it’s systematic inaccessibility that takes those away. The care provider who is to busy posting on instagram instead of providing that care.
Yk in the the 2000’s we thought these were incels and 40 year old janitors or teachers that lived in their parents basement or a serial killer level looking house with a secret porn basement. Leaders are supposed to model the behavior of how constituents should behave to make a better 🌎. What now?
Listen we are what we consume. I’ve seen enough of them. It’s also why I tell all the Beckys, Lindseys, and Saras out there: “when the light is low you do not go”. Except in my case it’s white homosexuals running at dusk & dawn. Yk your Rickys, your Patricks, the Chad Michael Murrays of it all.
It’s called tokenism. It’s a marketing scheme. Comcast/xfinity had a streaming section similar. I watched a decent amount of content from there in college. However, one of the short films centered a family & a gay guy. The family felt it was wrong to be gay and whole 🎬 was about converting him.

If you haven’t found people who love & see you for who you are. They’re out there. You just have to find them.

Personally I think there is more to it. There a many kinds of love. The love of family, friends, chosen family. Then there is the love shared with one or more partners.
One person can’t fulfill all of your needs including yourself. It’s beautiful
So as one does on a 15 minute drive home we talk about the past trauma and the state of the world 😂
You know light conversation with a complete stranger. On a day like today perhaps it was relevant our convo landed on the topic of love. My driver referenced the bible about sacrificing yourself…
I was in a medical transport (non-emergency, I’m fine; just my body is bodying). As a non-binary human, often people people don’t quite what to make of me: it’s in a jumpsuit, silver hoop earrings, knows how to walk in heels, freckles and therapist face…it seems friendly let’s talk to it*

I also want to recognize that the process has changed in a year. When I changed my name and gender marker, it was reasonably smooth, and I had the rights that my community fought hard for. I can’t imagine doing it this year and navigating the new path our country is on.
This past week's episode of @couplestherapypod.bsky.social inspired my first post. On March 15th, 2024, my name legally became Sky. Last year, I was not well enough to celebrate. I am grateful to celebrate with a few friends this year and honor who I am.
