Just wondering, Albo. Does Iran have a right to defend itself?
@kwelaman
Writing essays (wish I could be like Clive James), read (mostly fiction, but also essays), football (the real type) and rugby, Coursera and all the courses available, music of all types, especially when the lyrics are good

Do-nothing insipid hypocrit.
Complete hypocrisy. What about the difficult women, the 28 women murdered in a femicide epidemic never addressed by this man, who smiled in a photo with a rapist and suspected paedophile and shook his hand?
No standards, no morality.
Who can we turn to to evict these people from government?
@albomp.bsky.social , Fine but you you've still diminished all Australians with your associations with the crook and rapist.
Meantime, you forget our homeless, our disabled and aged, the minorities who live in fear, and femicide happening now (28 dead women this year)?
Prefer to fund AUKUS?
I'm getting ready for the Vic State elections, practising my writing, getting my thoughts in line, trying to understand this crazy world. This is a piece about our society going back to feudal times:

I'm reading the Australian constitution, because I think I need to. Without any further comment, and probably to nobody's surprise, this is in there:
We need to lower the temperature, or dial back the heat or something, says Albo.
@albomp.bsky.social : You first. You start by representing Australians, not your favourite sections of our broader community. How about doing your job and putting Australians first, not the US military industry?
Hypocrite
Weโd rather send our billions to the US for aukus than invest in Australian institutions
I found out today that hate for migrants is centuries old during this Shakespearian speech by Sir Ian McKellern

So nice that the caring old man is worried about the children who are watching
Really never were the good guys
Just because we have a housing crisis doesn't mean quality (of life , community and urbanscape) should go down the toilet.
I bet these fascists are in Australia. Our government doesn't have the balls to say no to them
NO it won't
America, do you still believe in your Constitution, the preamble to which says that you all have the rights to LIFE, LIBERTY and the pursuit of happiness
Because from outside, it looks like those rights are down the toilet.
Your founding fathers would be ashamed of you.
Vic election in November. Anyone in Melbourne willing to stand with me as a progressive independent in a loose alliance like the 5 Star movement in Italy whose catchcry was to tell the parties to go f*ck themselves or the more genteel Teals?
Good on you. I went to brilliant maps to ask for info, and saw you beat me to it. The reply is not really helpful. I don't think the values are cherrypicked as such, but that they have picked the smallest areas that make up 50% GDP. Statistics, hey? And the levels of aggregations make it harder.
UNless there are exclusions or something in the map. A bunch of Caribbean countries should be in the top GDP/Area too. FYI
Ah, I see where we differ. On a ranking of top GDP/area,the value on the map appears to cut off at at +- 2.15 Michigan in(2.16 ), Wisconsin out (2.13). Vic in (2.64), ACT out(21). Spain & Portugal are out (~3.7). Vietnam shouldn't be in (1.46). So it's not a rank, hence my interpretation
Clearly I have a deficiency in communication ability.
I have all the evidence of economic tables of GDP of countries and states. I'm afraid that either you're going to disbelieve the map, or you're going to have to believe that Victoria's GDP is greater than China's, Russia's, and Canada's.
As an example, the numbers 1 to 12 total 78. If you want to pick the fewest numbers that total 50% of that, you would need 10,11 and 12, and 6. So for this map, you pick the largest GDPs from areas to get close to 50% and add a low value or two. I think Victoria is a small one to complete the sum.
You could do this in many ways. For eg take the 5 biggest GDP cities (10% of global gdp). Then look for 550 small cities to get the extra 40%. They would obviously not be in the top bracket. Here, I think they've run an OR algorithm to pick the smallest area that makes up 50% of all GDP
I think they've chosen areas that togerh add up to 50% of total GDP. I don't think it involves the rank of GDP in those areas.
LOL. DJ Albo is in thrall to the US - he isn't really out to help Australians in any way
OFFS. What more is there to say?
How much of the National party's split with the Liberals is about not wanting to have a woman in charge, do you think?
@albomp.bsky.social Australia DESPERATELY needs you to sign up to Mark Carney's middle powers.
We DESPERATELY need you to put a fake ally behind us. We will be tainted with their poisonous smell.
Give Australians something we don't have to be ashamed of, for pity's sake.
