Throughout October, we’ll be sharing the experiences of Black survivors, highlighting the work of our Lambeth refuge supporting women of African and Caribbean heritage, and spotlighting the work of specialist Black by-and-for-organisations.
This #BHM we will be sharing stories of power and pride from survivors, supporters and staff.
Both misogyny and racism are deeply-rooted across society, causing unacceptable barriers for Black women reporting abuse. Deeply entrenched misogynoir devalues Black survivors and dismisses their trauma.

This Sunday (7th September) there will be a nationwide Emergency Alert test at 3pm.
For women experiencing #DomesticAbuse, a hidden phone can be a lifeline. The Emergency alert this week will trigger a loud siren noise, even if your phone is on silent.
