I often end up choosing just for effect. Especially against people that use the terms as a gatekeep.
You call a Gustave Courbet "porn", you can piss off the perfect subset of people.

Much like the question about how to name body parts, for me this is mainly context-based. There's some distinction between the terms, but I find it somewhat arbitrary.

I tried Ubuntu off and on for a decade. It never stuck. The reason was Gnome, not Ubuntu itself. After trying kubuntu, I realized KDE was a way better fit for my brain.
