I’m a fan of it to light
Hmh api spartan best vise and then my nor-vise I love and hate it at the same time
Hmh and a norvise
The fast build vs the slow build, no prep stacks just cut and stack and tie on. Fun stuff.

Kori bustard neck hackle doubles up with rooster folded, the throat is blue eared pheasant with just a smidge of kingfisher
It is

Revised version of a fly I just tied, cleaned it up a lot.

Dam so much stacking.
I try to learn everything, then also try to reinvent flys as well, it’s so much fun, ty.
lol awesome
Fun tie, Syd Glasso style Silver Doctor variant, I honestly don’t think Syd would tinsel the entire body. Kori neck feather hackle, blue eared pheasant/kingfisher throat, the rest is self explanatory.

Dee fly is finished, working on a black doctor variant
#flytying
After I set that some jc nails and a nice head to finish.
The rest of the body is peacock colored flat tinsel and lime colored oval tinsel. At the end of the body the last feather is a dyed guinea feather black/chartreuse. The throat is blue eared pheasant, same guinea feather, heron and silver pheasant. The Dee wing will be from Amherst feather.
One step closer to the end, crazy looking fly on a 3/0 Alec Jackson iron, tag is lime green oval tinsel small, the flat tinsel is peacock green, tail isn’t the standard gp crest, it’s rabbit and copper Krystal flash, the body is black seal dubbing with an old Hoffman rust orange feather.
Getting closer to the end of it just taking my time. Instead of teal I went with silver pheasant feathers on the throat. I just need to finish the wing and jc nails. Instead of using white tip turkey I’m going to use Amherst pheasant, it’s the closest feather to red kite.
Freestyle Dee fly I’m working on, hopefully I don’t mess up the throat and wings.

That’s another reason why I don’t use biots I want to keep the overall flow of the fly stable and let the current push the nymph freely in the current
Just something different, they actually do really good on the water. I also don’t use a tungsten or brass bead I use a weighted plastic bead.
Biots arew really needed in my opinion skinny body thick thorax
It’s universal just expensive to tie I guess, jc and seal fur for the thorax. I sell these lol for $8 each. I tie them on a Daiichi 1270 from size 10-12
1 more to go lol
