Slightly? I read a thread a month or so ago talking about sexual content in the game leading to some controversy, but not much else.
If the project's quality raised concerns and Neopets was originally in agreement with Geekify/TNT, it seems like pulling rights to the license would put refund responsibility on Neopets rather than TNT/Geekify. I might be missing something here, but this feels strange.
It sounds like there's an internal clash with the project, where Neopets, Geekify, and TNT all had different expectations of the final deliverable. Now it seems that Neopets found the roughs inexcusable and fully revoked the license. I'll be real here; that kind of makes me think this is on them.
The fact that this group just copy > pasted D&D 5e material shows we have a real issue with just how low the barrier for entry into this industry really is. I'm glad people are inspired to be game designers, but dear God there comes a point where you have to step out of your comfort zone.

For some perspective here: he's at nearly 1M subs. We expect a "healthy channel" to bring in about 10% of the sub count reliably per long form video, with some dips and spikes. One Shot Questers was lucky to get above 5% this whole last year.
I'm not sure if we're passed the "appropriate time" to really issue the apology and retraction, but Duke's lucky most of the marketing agencies for sponsors just look at sub count, not view count. Dude's not trying to be a savior, he's bloodthirsty and starving.
