Farmers often push back on net zero as a threat to national food security, rightly highlighting the risk of offshoring food production. But transformation is needed in land use systems to get us to a net-positive, post-fossil fuel agri-economy. Could we learn something from how the energy sector?

I take your point but I think there’s also a lot more that farmers could and should be investing in as essential tools of the trade - soil, animal welfare, biodiversity, water etc - if the tax system was aligned to better outcomes.
