Snap ik, echt donker ineens!

Ik weet dit nog, en ik was in 1985 nog niet geboren
Sylvia Pankhurst is... not that.
Oh! Yes, I see now. You're right! I've read biographies of Tudor women like that, and enjoyed them, because I understood that looking at direct evidence for other comparable women of the age was the only way to get any approximation of the actual subject's life.
Oh it also has plenty on Sylvia herself, hence the 800+ pages. That's not my complaint. I take issue with the incessant detours and unnecessary contextualisation, that obscure the parts that I actually want to read about!
Conversely, if you insist on including it, give me the actress's name and Sylvia's response to news of her death! Now it's just a big nothing burger, padding where absolutely no padding is required
This is what I mean! Like, that's very sad but it has nothing to do with the life of Sylvia Pankhurst! If your book is already 800+ pages long (NOT counting end notes or bibliography), this is the sort of stuff you can cut!!!
Oh my god the author just informed me that the lead actress in a play Sylvia once saw died a few months later, not having seen sunshine or felt fresh air in her final months because she lived up so many stairs and was so weak.

Once again the hospital hangover is real. I am physically and mentally drained.
On this International Women's Day, I'd also like to make the case for more feminism so that maybe one day my longhaired boys won't get constantly misgendered. I lost count of the amount of medical professionals I had to correct yesterday, even with medical file access! Patriarchy hurts everyone.
The cover for 'Pride and Prejudice and the City' by Rachael Lippincott. It features an illustration of two young women in a romantic embrace, one of them in Regency dress and the other modern. The background is hot pink.

A cute time travelling queer romance. Fun and sweet, though it's started lagging a bit by the halfway point because both characters were so passive.
I am considering a bubble wrap wardrobe
This was supposed to be my party outfit for my SIL's birthday, but instead I spent most of the day in hospital with my 7yo who broke his arm (yes, again.)
I am so tired of doctors Katie (they're all unfailingly nice and helpful but also NO MORE please)

Two side by side mirror selfies of me. I'm a plus size white woman in my late 30s. I'm wearing a navy top, yellow cardigan, lighter yellow knee length skirt with a white floral print and large yellow buttons, navy tights and yellow shoes with a strap across the instep.
Today's theme is navy and yellow. #ootd #MeMadeWardrobe
Oeh, ik duim!!

In the last elections I voted next to a Roman-era ship ๐
Als je nog ruimte in de kofferbak over hebt hou ik me aanbevolen voor een zakje of twee tzatzikichips ๐
YESSSS.
I'm not even remotely an Internet elder (late 30s, never used ICQ, etc) and I still have usernames that are like 25 years old.
I played my favourite artist (a professional, award winning singer, not just some local hero) a song I wrote and the next night I performed it with her on backing vocals.
