#Whistle won’t be for everyone, but I had a blast with this silly, spooky, blood filled horror film led by Dafne Keen and Sophie Nélisse. My review is up now!
For The Ringer, I wrote about how amazing it was that the brilliant Catherine O'Hara finally became a superstar in her 60s, and how sad it is that she was taken from us just when we had all finally begun to appreciate her:
#PikeRiver does a lot of things right, but its ending nearly undoes all of them. My review is up now!
that time of the year again😌🍿
Entering the Fortress. #Superman
It took me some time to unpack my feelings on the #StrangerThings finale and there’s a lot that I didn’t mention (such as the out of place Prince needle drops). However, I wound up satisfied and teary eyed thanks to this cast. My review is up now!
Four Favorites with Marty Supreme’s Odessa A'zion, Luke Manley and composer Daniel Lopatin🏓

#AvatarFireAndAsh is another home run for James Cameron. My full review is up now on Loud and Clear!
#EllaMcCay isn’t perfect, but with Emma Mackey leading the way, it turns out to be something really sweet. My full review is up now!
Very silly but just got word that my first big girl IP comic will be announced soon. Gave a quote for the trades. It’s all happening. Thank goodness for comics this year and the small wins it’s given me.
Still, there is nuance to all the awards hype. Though “Sinners” looks to be a major Oscar player, that voting body has never nominated Jordan for his acting or Coogler for his directing — indeed, no Black filmmaker has ever won in the latter category. Asked to join the academy in 2016, Coogler declined the invitation. “It’s not out of animosity,” he told me, noting that he’s stretched thin with commitments to his film school and unions. “And I’m not good at judging things, bro. The act of ‘Hey, pick the best thing’ is very stressful for me, even when there’s no stakes involved.” He is more drawn to the everyday elements of his career than to the glamorous ballrooms. “People see the tuxedo, they see the red carpet, but it’s real blue-collar folks making these movies happen,” Coogler said, adding that he truly fell in love with filmmaking once he understood that, at its core, it’s a job.

See you tomorrow. #Supergirl
I loved a lot about #StrangerThings 5 Vol. 1 narratively and performance wise, but there’s room tor improvement as the series heads toward its final four episodes. My review is up now!
#ILoveLA is so much fun and perfectly encapsulates the chaos of your late twenties. Rachel Sennott and this cast have created characters you’ll fall in love with and see yourselves in. My review of Season 1 is up now!

Back in my day, AI used to stand for Adobe Illustrator! And we hated that, too!
#TheHandThatRocksTheCradle is awful despite Maika Monroe and Mary Elizabeth Winstead giving this poor script better performances than it deserves. My review is up now on Loud and Clear!
Robin Williams' daughter has some quality thoughts on AI slop
#TronAres is an audio and visual feast with an extraordinary soundtrack from Nine Inch Nails, but the story and lead performance don’t live up to their potential. It’s the most conflicting film I’ve seen all year but an alright time. My full review is up now!
This honestly makes me sad. He saved her from Tom Cruise. He wrote "The Fighter" for her.
