Third time that big broβs work is reported on Quantum Zeitgeist for just this year! Wishing for more hat-tricks to come his wayβ¦ π
Easy to feel powerless in times like these.
Trying to remember that science is a political act and a force that brings people together from all over the world out of excitement for the beauty of nature.
In this sense, science is an act of defiance against those that wish to divide humanity.
Am overjoyed to share that my team was awarded 1st prize for this year's UK National Quantum Computing Centre Hackathon!
Earlier last month, I also contributed a flash talk for the Foundations of Quantum Computing (FQC) 2025 workshop, results now being written up into a preprint.

Am I there? Also @quantum-geometer.bsky.social
Was great fun to hang out here!
My big bro @quantum-geometer.bsky.socialβs first corresponding last-author publication has landed over the weekend, such a fun read!
Finally back home in Chittagong after so long, spending the holidays with my parents, and my cats. Also posting some photos from the "SchrΓΆdinger Cats" workshop at OIST, undoubtedly a highlight of my yearβstunning venue, amazing talks and posters, insightful discussions, and great new friends!
Just left China, staying there for a day-long stopover on the way to Okinawa. Had a really lovely time, and looking forward to doing a longer actual visit (quantum adjacent or otherwise!) in the future!
Fun day-long stopover in Shanghai on the way to OIST, Okinawa for SchrΓΆdinger Cats workshop.
My talk on higher order weak values, reporting on work with @jbgoette.bsky.social, concludes the first session in the program.
Look forward to belated trip back home to Bangladesh once workshop concludes!
Last conference before starting my PhD, showcasing results from last year's CASSUM Fellowship, at JETS, organised by DIAS in beautiful Westport, County Mayo. Was wonderful catching up with my supervisor, Dr. Brandt Gaches, in person after over a year.
I look forward to the journey ahead βοΈ

Jon Pritchard telling us about how to use Rydberg atoms to solve optimization problems during Andrew Daley's Quantum algorithms workshop in Oxford.
Concluding my July travels with the NQCC hackathon at Warwick, sharing a picture of our team βFellowship of the Frustrated RinQβ. Many thanks for Rolls Royce for providing us with an interesting use case, and IBM Quantum for access to 127 qubit devices.
this is very worrying ... job losses and going bust looming large in the sector :-(

A special highlight of Emergence Of Classicality for me was Dr. Nicole Yunger Halpernβs amazing talk, also got my copy of her book signed!
Rounding out my undergraduate years at University of Glasgow with first conference photo and poster presentation in Emergence Of Classicality at Trinity College Dublin. Now on to my PhD @Strathclyde Physics, who I start representing with my participation at the NQCC hackathon in Warwick next week!
Hacking away as part of the Horizon Quantum Computing team at the ASPECTs hackathon in Trinity College Dublin
Hello world! I am Shushmi, an incoming PhD student at CNQO Strathclyde, interested in all things Quantum.
I look forward to discussing my work and engaging with quantum preprints shared here, speaking of which, here is my first one: scirate.com/arxiv/2407.0...
