She got picked out from the crowd. That was surprising. Shuffling through the crowd Vendetta now stood by the magician. Glancing at the crowd then back at the magician.

What sort of trick did this magician have planned? Hopefully it wouldn’t be too embarrassing.

But personal feelings couldn’t get in the way. Not when there was potential for him being released.

There had to be ways to improve on his containment.

She looked around the outside first, examining any potential ease of entrance before standing at the entrance to his ‘room’.

Vendetta was quite surprised that the previous head of Talon was able to get someone like this man to cooperate.

But allowing for him to just go. That was not an option. He was too unstable and his powers are definitely unmatched.

It was sad though. Seeing someone no longer be ‘there’.

“That is quite impressive. Balancing two different lives. Not many can do it with the two eventually blending together.

It could get quite messy.”

Vendetta tracked back on a few instances where gladiators failed to balance their double lifestyle. Ending up losing jobs, family.

“Though firstly I’d like to know more about you and your work. It’s not everyday an engineer of your caliber hides away where most can’t be located.”

She kept her posture professional, standing straight with a neutral expression. Though there was a hint of enthusiasm.

“I do not mind staying here at the door. Wouldn’t wish to make you uncomfortable.”

With a quick glance behind her, she didn’t catch anyone around. For the sake of the engineer, she wouldn’t want any danger coming their way.

“I suppose there is some work involved in what I’d like to discuss.”

“Within time, one of those ‘friends’ happened to give me the opportunity to take back my father’s empire. I’ve proved I can rule an empire so I did what needed to be done and seized back the power.”

She seemed pretty smug about her accomplishments. Brushing off her victory like is was simple.

Her voice had a hint of anger, though she has been doing better at suppressing her personal feelings when it comes to work related activities.

“I wouldn’t let that tear me down. I started to hone my strength within the Colosseo. Even made a few friends along the way.”

Her hands rested on her hips as she tough upon her own path. It definitely was quite the experience.

“I was to rule my father’s empire after he had been taken out… Alas those within the empire casted me out. I went from having something, to nothing.“

Vendetta listened attentively, finding what she heard quite intriguing. It was as if more she heard on his tales, the more it felt as if she found another potential partner.

“It’s quite the pleasure to meet you, Taniks. You sound as if you have had quite the adventures.”

On the tablet was the former Talon operative, Amélie Lacroix. It had her base information on the first page of the file.

“We need to take care of a few loose ends first. Your desired payment will be met and if you require any equipment, Talon will cover it.“

Vendetta nodded her head when appropriate, absorbing everything spoken.

“I can agree that a good payday can be very motivating… But, for now I don’t acquire you to take out any Overwatch operative. I have a different target in mind.”

Vendetta took out a tablet, placing it in between the two.

“I’m glad to hear you’re doing perfect, Vaira. Wouldn’t wish anything less for you.”

Vendetta scanned the analytics, being very pleased with its contents.

“How lovely! I never had any doubt. But seeing the analytics truly brings me joy.

Has anything else been occurring on your end?”

Vendetta glanced at the sword on her back and smirked.

“Palatine Fang. This beauty has slashed through many… All kinds of beasts and mecha alike.

I’m sure it stands a great chance against this ‘Darkblade’.”

“Truly…”

Perhaps talking aloud of all the weight she feels on her chest would help. But she couldn’t risk being heard or recorded. The strength she presented herself with had to be present at all times.

“So, you and your gang. Do you guys only gain your assets from heists?”

“Luckily Moira has much more at hand than ever before. I trust her in her abilities to cooked up a much stronger solider.”

“There are many out there now with a similar résemé. Even some with a much more outstanding record. She is an old guinea pig. There is always room for improvement.”

The care for Lacroix was practically nonexistent. She left after all. Now she was just a loose end that needed to be taken care of.

It sounded like it could be fun. Plus, magic typically seems to be harmless.

She rose her a hand, not too high but just barely high enough to be seen.

It wasn’t too out of the ordinary to see animals come out of a hat when it came to magicians. That didn’t mean it wasn’t impressive each time. It seemed like the crowd was eating up the performance.

Vendetta watched as a few people eagerly rose their hands, wishing to partake in the trick.

After all, there have been many prodigies one wouldn’t expect.

She stood at the door with a small smile, not looking eager or desperate. Only hoping that her search could come to an end.

To her surprise, the one to answer the door was rather short. Could this have truly been the person she was looking for?

“Saluti!

I’m looking for an engineer. I simply want to chat.”

She wasn’t going to dismiss the possibility that she was already talking to the engineer.

Vendetta watched Sigma from outside his confinement, not daring to give him any chance to lay a finger on her. He was one of their most dangerous assets after all. Even if he wasn’t scheming anything, this is the best course of action.
