Through my life Penthouse and Playboy had the biggest influences on my perception of the female presence and form. The photographers of the 1960s and 1970s had a special look and style that to this day makes me yearn for more imagery of its kind to be made so I can visually devour it. There was always a sort of goddess glow and color control that I feel lacks from so much media these days. Whenever I can even come close to scratching the formula I get very happy! This shoot and the post process are on that road for me. I feel like I am evolving my style again. It is exhausting at the same time exciting.

Shaping light and shadows has always been the challenge and the enjoyment in my passion as a erotic photographer. How much do we let you see or make you think you have seen. Then trying to explain to the model what I see in my minds eye has always been a challenge all on its own. This shot was done with a single light over head tilted down with a 30 degree grid. Then punched up in parts in Lightroom and Photoshop. What comes to your mind when you see this image?

A creative interpretation of the conversation about stereotype of gender roles. Lighting style reminds me of something Helmut Newton might have done.

My Muse came to me one day with a box of VHS tapes destine for the dump. She wanted to do something creative with it instead. Using her bath tub a single strobe and one VHS tapes innards we started to build this weird concept. When she pulled out the jug of black paint the idea cemented into this shot. I love creative people! Comment a setup with a model you were presented with as the photographer and how it felt to be part of that process! Comment a stage you were part of that the photographer and the team built and you were the model. How did the stage feel compared to how the final results came out.

Locked keys in car. Worst feeling!!

In the end story or pov is what matters to me when I consume visual media. Many times I see a badly lit shot or awkward posing and wonder why THAT shot was presented. Crisp and focus is secondary if the "feeling" is not conveyed. Style takes precedence over technical for me.

It is always interesting when you can look back over your own legacy and remember touchstone moments.
