De eerste metselbijen komen tevoorschijn. In het filmpje de Gehoornde metselbij (Osmia cornuta). De eerste die uitkomen zijn de mannetjes. Die hebben een snor en lange antennes. Alleen op zijn kop zit stuifmeel, daardoor lijkt ie anders gekleurd. Vrouwtjes verzamelen stuifmeel in de haren op de buik
