Bummer to read @theathletic.bsky.social this morning email and there were no mentions of the college softball world series which started yesterday. 4 great games, and no mentions of any of them.
Anyone looking to ban a book from a school should have to prove they read it by presenting a book report to the school committee.
Seeing some really sad takes on this fire from certain circles of people. The lack of compassion for the thousands who have lost everything is just jaw dropping. To see families lose everything, and then to see others laugh abt it because the victims are from CA….it makes me lose hope in humanity.
Do the general public know that so-called "gender critical" therapists are running workshops instructing parents how to stop their kid being trans, and then running other workshops to instruct parents how to deal with alienation from their kids?
These people are literally destroying families.
I feel like we're in an era where it's acceptable to cancel plans at the last minute in the name of "self care", regardless of how it impacts the people you're canceling on, and I hate it.
