A Few Tips for the First Few years on the Tenure Track in the sciences/engineering @ R1s YouTube video by Alexandru B Georgescu

After the success of the 'tips on how to get a faculty job' videos (1.5K views on one of them πŸŽ‰ , and two invited talks on the topic!), I thought I would add a video with a few tips on my first few years on the tenure track: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Cgy...

I haven't! But I'm also thinking I'm not sure I'd be comfortable posting the way I normally do (balance of student celebration and research) that normally gets engagement and helped me build my Twitter/LinkedIn account.

In my case posting here has no reach, basically. LinkedIn is not as dynamic but at least people are there. My guess is Blue sky features bigger accounts more to prevent trolls from taking over but it also means it's difficult to grow your account.

New work with my postdoc Bipasa Samanta on superconducting nickelates. After showing a remarkably strong correlation between in-plane Ni-O-Ni bond angles and Tc in La3Ni2O7, we investigate the effects of other factors (strain, correlations, layer number) on the likely Tc. arxiv.org/abs/2506.11427

Superconductivity in the Parent Infinite-Layer Nickelate ${\mathrm{NdNiO}}_{2}$ Undoped NdNiO${}_{2}$ exhibits superconductivity up to 11 K, challenging the assumption that doping is essential in layered nickelate superconductors.

Happy to have contributed to this complex collaborative work - now in PRX - showing that infinite layer nickelate superconductors may be more different from cuprates than we thought: they may be superconducting even in the absence of doping: journals.aps.org/prx/abstract...
