I am very nearsighted. I got glasses when I was 12 (+ learned you're actually supposed to be able to see leaves on trees), and was doing a LOT of theater. I didn't get contacts until I was 17, so I was taking my glasses off before I hit the stage, and worked only seeing a few feet in front of me 😬

I posted recently about how great Neil Sedaka was sounding. So sad to hear he's gone. I actually saw him when I was a kid. Now as a professional music (degreed!) person, I appreciate him even more as one of our best pop songwriters, a master of melody + mood. And by all accounts, a really nice man.
