Ohh, Apple have announced an M5 MacBook Pro, very tempted! Just not sure if I can justify £1600 on a new toy. What does annoy me is the paltry 16 GB RAM entry level model. For the prices they charge, minimum memory should be at least 24 GB on a “Pro” machine
It’s shockingly bad trying to get appointments, although it was on the news last week that surgeries are going to have to offer an online booking system rather than the 8am lottery. Hopefully this will improve but can’t come soon enough

Well, that’s just fucking brilliant, isn’t it?! 🙄🤬 Why are companies so relaxed about their data security and why are they never held to account for losing our personal data? They think an apology resolves them of blame? This is the 3rd company that’s lost my data to hackers!
They’re either liars or incompetent. I think they were trying it on last year but the thing about being good liars is having a good memory! If they’d looked at last year’s MOT, which they have access to, they’d have seen the advisory on brake discs, so no idea why it’s not being picked up this time
My car’s last MOT it had an advisory for “Worn, pitted or scored brake discs”, this wasn’t mentioned when it was serviced earlier this year and it’s just sailed through the MOT today with no mention of it. All at the same garage. I think a 2nd opinion is needed
Yes, I suppose it’s testament to how well Apple make their kit, my MacBook is 13 years old and if it wasn’t for the battery life and screen flickering on startup (which I’m guessing could be early signs of failure) then I wouldn’t be too bothered to replace it. iPad is 4 years old, battery not good
I should have replaced it before now, trouble is I need to also replace the MacBook Pro and iPad too. It’s about deciding which one is more important. I’m thinking the MacBook first!

What’s your take on the news back in March that Canva has bought the Affinity suite? Initially, I feared that the perpetual licence would be going, in favour of a subscription model - but, for now at least, that seems to not be on the cards.

Since finally updating to iOS 18, now every time I open Apple’s News app it asks to verify Apple ID password. Any ideas how to stop this? I waited until 18.2 thinking most bugs would be fixed, wish I hadn’t bothered now. #ios18
