My late-teen aged son got into a kick of binge-watching Frontline during winter break for a few years. When we hit the 80s it was a memory lane of horribles!
I often say that just about everything wrong with this country & why we can’t have nice things is either Reagan or racism. And that Venn diagram is nearly a circle.
I believe this ties in to the whole Regan era “lazy government employee” trope and demonstrates that line is transparently racist.

People of color, LGBTQ folks, Jews & Muslims in the US, and others have real experience differentiating between slight “discomfort” and actual danger.
It seems like the women in this bar need to be uncomfortable more often to learn the difference.
I think some people should get used to the idea that they might occasionally be uncomfortable. A gay man or a “Gay AF” T-shirt might make you uncomfortable. Fine. But you are surrounded by people who are demographically like you, in a place where you are certainly physically safe.
Organized gangs of wine moms know who exactly is bringing cheese, who is bringing dessert and who is hosting the next get-together.

This is obviously not the point, but I believe that all Americans should be required to watch at least the first few seasons of Northern Exposure. That's going in my platform for when I rule the world.
The actor is Nick Offerman and by all accounts, he's a good egg. He's a gruff wood-worker, but also super supportive.
His character on Parks & Rec was all sorts of problematic, but I don't recall any racism or sexism, and was tough but supportive in his own way.
