Here's how to spot the 'planetary parade' this month! Just after sunset, four planets will be visible in the evening skies for the summer months.

If you are up early tomorrow morning, be sure to catch this cosmic trio in our morning skies ✨. Jupiter, the Moon, and Mars will rise at around 3am and will be visible together until sunrise in the eastern sky. No telescopes needed - simply look up!

#Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured these images of sand dunes covered by frost just after winter solstice. The frost here is a mixture of carbon dioxide snow and water ice. It will disappear when spring arrives.

This image is a close-up view of a turbulent cloud of gas and dust in the Eagle Nebula, located in the constellation Aquila. The cloud is sculpted by the energetic radiation and stellar winds from young, massive stars that have recently formed within the nebula. The dark pillars are composed of cool, dense gas and dust that have not yet been completely eroded by the radiation and stellar winds. These pillars are sites of ongoing star formation, as evidenced by the glowing knots of gas, which are infant stars still shrouded in their dusty cocoons. The red emission in the image represents the presence of hot, molecular hydrogen gas. The blue hues reveal the presence of singly ionized oxygen atoms, while the green hues show singly ionized neon atoms. This image provides astronomers with new insights into the complex processes of star formation.
Unique view of Pillars of Creation.

Rings of Saturn out in front of the planet. Below them, their shadows darken the cloudtops
The delicate rings of Saturn. Remember, the rings aren’t solid objects but are instead composed of billions of bits of ice. In some places, you can see right through the rings!
